RoamRest is a Clackamas, Oregon specialty brand for vans, RVs and overland rigs. It's a division of North America Mattress Corp., which has operated since 1996. It sells made-to-order all-foam mattresses shaped for rigs like the Winnebago Revel, Storyteller and EKKO. Prices run about $280 to $1,445. It's best if you live in a van and need an exact-fit bed. You should know about the short warranty first. The catch is a short 12-month warranty and no published sleep trial.

Good fit for camper-van, Class B/C motorhome, travel-trailer and rooftop-tent owners who need vehicle-specific shapes, folding or custom-size foam beds, and easy-clean water-resistant covers. Poor fit for shoppers wanting standard home mattresses, innerspring or hybrid builds, certified foams, in-store tryouts, a long trial, or a 10-plus-year warranty.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Side sleepers wanting pressure relief: Soft versions of EKKO, Revel, Storyteller or Tri-fold. Back/stomach sleepers or heavier owners: Medium-Firm versions or the firm side of the Dual Duty. Couples in an EKKO: order different firmness per side.
Rental fleets and dusty/outdoor use: Outback. Tight platforms and bunks: Everynight Deluxe or Pioneer low-profile. DIY builders: Pathway.
Maximum versatility and stow-away function: Ultimate Tri-fold or Storyteller with RoamChucks.

Which RoamRest feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether RoamRest publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Positioned as long-life travel beds: flippable/dual-sided RV and Outback models extend usable life, dense base foams resist bottoming on plywood platforms, and coated fabrics resist moisture and abrasion. Parent NAMC claims 1,000,000-plus mattresses built. No published durability testing, sagging thresholds or expected-lifespan figures; 12-month warranty is short for the category as of Sept 2026.

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
No published sleep-trial length or free-return promise as of Sept 2026. Exchanges for wrong size or comfort: contact RoamRest promptly for a solution. Returns require service-department approval and an authorization number; RoamRest may charge return shipping and restocking fees; warranty returns ship prepaid to its warehouse.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Made to order (not stocked); processing starts next business day and orders typically leave the warehouse in about 2-3 weeks, then arrive via FedEx Ground in 5-10 business days with tracking. Site advertises free ground shipping in the contiguous U.S.; rates otherwise by box size, weight and distance. No white-glove setup and no old-mattress removal published as of Sept 2026; a mattress recycling program page exists.
Typical wait: 2 to 3 weeks

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
12-month limited warranty from delivery via North America Mattress Corp. covering defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser; remedy limited to replacement parts at RoamRest's sole discretion. Claim items ship prepaid to RoamRest. Voids: improper use, alteration, unauthorized repair.
To validate coverage the mattress must be unboxed/decompressed within 14 days of delivery. No sagging-depth or cover terms published as of Sept 2026.
Covered when the dip is deeper than Sagging depth not published, measured with nobody on the bed.
Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
On-site testimonials and Google reviews skew strongly positive (site claims 4.98/5): comfort upgrades over stock van mattresses, exact fit, visible quality, helpful service and faster-than-quoted delivery. Recurring complaint themes: 2-3-week made-to-order lead time, Medium-Firm feeling too firm for some side sleepers (one Storyteller buyer wished for Soft), and return shipping/restocking costs.
Limited independent third-party reviews found as of Sept 2026.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
All-foam builds: soft conforming foam, gel-infused memory foam (Elite uses 3 lb memory foam), performance/support foam and firm base foam in 3- and 4-layer stacks from 4 to 8 in. thick. Tops are breathable polyester-blend stretch fabric; sides/bottoms on van lines are fluid-, abrasion- and rip-resistant PVC/polyurethane-coated low-slip nylon. Zippered removable washable covers.
No innersprings; no foam certifications published as of Sept 2026.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

Chapter 12
RoamRest vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Versus general RV-foam sellers (e.g., Adventure RV, Mattress Insider): RoamRest is narrower and more vehicle-specific with shaped replacements for named rigs (Revel, Storyteller, EKKO) and tri-fold/overland formats. Versus home-mattress brands: no standard home sizes, no hybrids, shorter warranty and no trial.
Versus van converters (e.g., Tochta): comparable custom-fit foam approach; RoamRest differentiates with per-side firmness and RoamChucks storage.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for RoamRest. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
We prioritized roamrest.com product pages, price ranges, materials, shipping, returns and warranty pages, then the brand story, FAQ, testimonials and event pages. We cross-checked model names and prices against the brand's product pages. We did not find independent lab tests or major third-party review coverage; gaps are labeled Not published as of Sept 2026 rather than assumed.
