The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary
Craftmatic is a longtime TV adjustable-bed brand run from South Florida. It still sells mattresses, but only bundled with its Legacy, Model I and Monaco bases, and only by phone. The website is now a lead form with no catalog, specs or prices. BBB gives the company an F. You may like the reversible dual-density coil mattress or a split dual-queen setup. But you should expect a slow, complaint-heavy process. If you need published specs, online ordering, free returns or dependable warranty service, this isn't the brand to pick.

For most shoppers in 2026, no. Craftmatic can only make sense if you specifically want a US-assembled adjustable base with a matching Craftmatic-built mattress, you are comfortable buying by phone with no published specs, and you accept roughly 1,800 to 6,000 US dollars and a slow, complaint-heavy fulfilment process.
If you need published materials, independent tests, online ordering, free returns or dependable warranty service, this is not the brand to pick: BBB rates Craftmatic F, its 23 customer reviews average 1.13 out of 5, and 2024-2026 complaints describe beds and mattresses paid for in full that were never delivered, defective mattresses and refunds that never arrived.
It can still suit a legacy loyalist replacing a 20-year-old Craftmatic, or a buyer who wants a reversible dual-density coil mattress in a dual-queen or dual-king split setup with two hand controls, but treat the sales call as a high-pressure, contract-based purchase and pay by credit card so you keep chargeback rights.

Craftmatic, the veteran TV adjustable-bed brand now run from South Florida as Craftmatic Direct / Craftmatic Internet Sales, still sells mattresses but only bundled with its Legacy, Model I and Monaco bases by phone; craftmatic.com is now just a lead form with no online catalogue, specs or prices, and BBB gives it an F.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Back or combination sleepers who want to experiment with firmness: the Dual Density reversible coil mattress, since flipping the mattress changes the feel from firm to plush without buying again. Firm-preference sleepers, heavier sleepers and anyone who dislikes sink-in: Luxury Firm, or the firm side of the Dual Density.
Lightweight sleepers and side sleepers wanting softness and airflow: Plush Soft with its Talalay latex layer, or the Model I Latex 12-inch on its 24 ILD soft side. Couples who want independent adjustment and no motion transfer: a Dual Queen or Dual King system with two mattresses, two hand controls and split head/foot articulation, which is Craftmatic's long-standing niche.
Hot sleepers and anyone who sweats at night: avoid the memory foam models if you can - owner reviews repeatedly say the memory foam sleeps hot even with the gel top - and choose latex or the coil mattress instead. Pressure-relief seekers and people with achy hips or shoulders: memory foam (Model I Superior Memory Foam or Nu Gel 12-inch) is the most conforming option, with the caveat about heat.
Allergy-conscious buyers: the memory foam line is CertiPUR-US certified for emissions and the coil mattresses use a chemical-free fire barrier, but no organic or GREENGUARD certification was found.
Medical claims on the site (temporary relief from low back pain, edema or leg swelling, poor leg circulation, hiatus hernia and gastric reflux symptoms, especially with heat and massage) are the brand's own marketing and were not clinically verified in our research. Firmness, ILD and height data for the 2026 line: Not published as of Sept 2026, so match your needs on the phone and lean on the 30-day trial.

Which Craftmatic feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Craftmatic publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
Craftmatic lists 7 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
Dual Density / Dual Plush-Firm coil mattress (the flagship and standard mattress on Legacy, Model I and Monaco Elite): dual-sided reversible so one side is luxuriously firm with maximum support and the other is plush/soft with about 2 inches of extra fill including 1.5 inches of convoluted egg-crate foam, built on a 312-coil Bonnell spring unit (5-turn oil-tempered, double-knotted, helical-wire tied) for full-size, hot-glue laminated to stop layers shifting, with stretch panel cover, chemical-free fire barrier, foams and corner guards; reviews say it is bouncy, cools reasonably well and has decent edge support, but can creak, conforms little and is not a plush luxury feel.
Luxury Firm: stretch panel cover, chemical-free fire barrier, firm quilt foam, comfort foam, visco memory foam and shock-absorbing safety base over a Bonnell spring unit; good edge support and bounce, but some owners report noise and weak pressure relief.
Plush Soft: shock-absorbing base, padded corner guards, Bonnell springs, plush topper, Talalay latex, hyper-soft quilt foam, chemical-free fire barrier and stretch knit panel cover; the Talalay layer makes it the softest and most breathable of the coil options and it has no visco foam, so it is the pick for lightweight sleepers and hot sleepers.
Model I Superior Memory Foam: 8, 10 or 12-inch CertiPUR-US certified memory foam with HD polyfoam support base, premium organic poly-cotton circular knit cover and ultra-suede border; pressure relief is good but owners report it sleeps warm and lacks edge support.
Nu Gel 12-inch gel-infused memory foam: 4 inches of high-density eco-conscious memory foam, 2.5 inches of premium memory foam and 1.5 inches of gel-infused memory foam over an 8-inch HD polyfoam support base, with a premium organic cotton circular knit cover carrying a 15-year warranty; the gel layer is the brand's answer to the classic memory-foam heat problem.
Model I Latex 12-inch: two-sided with a 6-inch latex core; soft side has 2 inches of 24 ILD latex plus a plush quilt with 1 inch of hyper foam, firm side has 2 inches of 40 ILD latex plus 7/8-inch firm foam quilt, overall height about 11.8 inches, no visco memory foam. Monaco Grande Supreme: the top-of-line memory foam pairing sold with the Monaco base.
Replacement mattresses: An older (2021) archived page sold adjustable-bed replacement mattresses for any electric adjustable bed, not only Craftmatic bases. Current 2026 model names, sizes and specs are Not published as of Sept 2026, so every model must be confirmed on the sales call.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Mattress prices and value. Craftmatic publishes no prices anywhere: the live site says For Prices and Free Information About Our Beds. Call 888-539-6985, and archived pages say Shop by Phone and Save plus an Everyday Low Price Guarantee, with marketing claims of up to 50 percent less than Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number and other adjustables - none of it verifiable because the brand publishes no specs or price list.
Third-party pricing found: MyBestMattress (review updated Oct 2025) says Craftmatic bed prices run about 1,800 to 6,000 US dollars and puts the Legacy model at about 6,000 dollars.
What customers actually reported paying in BBB reviews: 3,918.27 dollars for a bed and mattress in June 2023, 4,232.92 dollars for a bed and mattresses in September 2023, 4,500 dollars for an order placed February 2023, and 3,531 dollars quoted in 2021 for two replacement mattresses for an insurance claim; a 200-dollar remote replacement and a 75-dollar service call plus 175-dollar part plus shipping were quoted to other owners.
Value verdict: prices sit at premium adjustable-bed-set levels while the brand offers no published specification sheet, no independent lab testing, no online ordering and a 30-day trial whose return shipping is on you, so the value case rests almost entirely on the sales call and the dual-density or split-king feature set. Mattress-only prices, per-model prices and current promotions: Not published as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Brand claims: Craftmatic says the hot-glue laminating process is designed to extend mattress life through thousands of flexes, that the mattress is engineered to bend on an adjustable base, and that all mattresses meet demanding specifications for comfort, shape retention and support; the mattress and foundation carry a 25-year pro-rata limited warranty and the Legacy/Model I pages repeat a 25-year limited mattress warranty.
Independent evidence: no lab durability testing, no teardown reviews and no long-term owner survey for Craftmatic mattresses were found as of Sept 2026, so longevity cannot be verified.
Owner evidence is mixed to poor: reviewers report a mattress defective on arrival, uneven filling, a reverse side that is hard as a rock, an edge so soft the owner fell out of bed, memory foam sleeping hot, and a split-king buyer who received the mattress but waited nine months for the base; several 2024-2026 complainants never received the mattress at all, which makes durability moot for them.
Practical read: the coil mattresses are old-technology Bonnell builds with a modest 312-coil count for a full size, so expect a basic, bouncy, non-conforming feel rather than modern pocketed-coil or high-density foam longevity; if durability matters most, ask on the call for current coil counts, foam densities and the exact warranty document before paying. Long-term durability test results: Not published as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
.
The official 30 Day In-Home Trial (from the company's own 30day.pdf): use the bed for 30 days; if you are not satisfied, between day 31 and day 45 call Craftmatic for a Return Authorization Number, then return the bed within 14 days for a full refund of the purchase price; you pay return shipping, and Craftmatic can arrange its shipping partner to pack up and pick up for a competitive price of 699 dollars for one bed and 999 dollars for a dual king.
The trial applies only to purchases of a complete bed set (a base and a mattress), does not apply to special-order bases, special-order mattresses or latex mattresses, and is available only within the 48 contiguous United States.
The 30 Day Mattress Assurance Program lets you swap within days 31-45 to a softer or firmer mattress for 90 dollars delivered to your door or 180 dollars placed on your bed with the old one removed; it also excludes special-order mattresses and latex mattresses, is limited to the 48 contiguous states and is a one-time offer; if you are still unhappy, the 30-day trial restarts and you again have days 31-45 after receiving the new mattress to get a Return Authorization and return within 14 days for a full refund, minus return shipping plus the 90 or 180-dollar mattress delivery charge.
The Refund and Return Policy page states there are no returns, exchanges or refunds once you no longer have a right to cancel and the bed has been delivered, except under the 30 Day In-Home Trial, and that cancellation rights vary by state and are governed by your contract.
Complaints show the policy in practice is contentious: buyers report waiting months for refunds, being told no refund until mattresses are shipped back at their expense, and deposits of 2,000 dollars and 760 dollars not returned.
Trial length, return window and fees are the brand's published terms from its official PDF and remained the terms referenced on the site through 2025; whether they have changed in 2026 is not published as of Sept 2026 because the policy pages are no longer online.

Chapter 07
Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
. Brand promises: all deliveries are made through the Craftmatic Authorized Delivery and Service network (archived model pages say throughout all 50 United States; the 2021 mattresses.php page says the 48 contiguous United States) and the company says it will deliver and set up your new Craftmatic adjustable bed nationwide, with easy-roll casters and in-home technicians for setup.
In practice, complaints from 2023-2026 describe: mattresses arriving by FedEx to the porch in large boxes while the base came later on a separate truck; a delivery crew that brought four chairs instead of the base; drivers refusing to take old mattresses and bases because they could not wrap soiled items, leaving elderly buyers sleeping in chairs; installers not fitting the mattress connectors; promised delivery dates missed repeatedly (July 2026 order still undelivered in September 2026; November 2025 order undelivered more than seven months later); and a 2024 case where the bed arrived only after a TV consumer reporter intervened.
Old-mattress removal is not documented as a free standard service anywhere we could find. The only official removal offer found is inside the 30-Day Mattress Assurance Program, where 180 dollars covers placing the new mattress on your bed and removing the old one (or 90 dollars for door delivery only), and at least one owner paid an added haul-away and installation fee that was then not performed properly.
Delivery fees, scheduling windows and whether haul-away is included: Not published as of Sept 2026 - confirm in writing before paying.

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
Mattress and foundation: a 25-year pro-rata limited mattress and foundation warranty to the original owner against defects in material and workmanship from delivery; year one is free for parts, labor and delivery to your home; between years 2 and 25 Craftmatic may repair or replace with a pro-rata charge calculated as replacement cost divided by 300 months multiplied by expired months; from year 2 you can have the mattress or foundation inspected in-home at prevailing service-call charges or ship it prepaid to Craftmatic.
Base frame and mechanism: a 1-year limited warranty on bed frame elements, motors, gears, controls and the electrical system (replace or repair, parts and labor free, usually in your home); a Limited Lifetime warranty on the level-changer (position-changing) mechanism system and the massage system for Craftmatic Monaco, Model I and Model II, covering defective motors at no charge, with installation, service-call labor and shipment at your cost.
Exclusions across the warranties: customer misuse, accident, damage in transit or handling by the customer, burning, unauthorized repair; the Limited Edition angle uses Leggett and Platt's separate 1-year-full / 3-year / 10-year limited adjustable-base warranty, which explicitly excludes the mattress, excludes electronics, electrical components, drive motors and massage motors after year 3, is not transferable and is void if weight limits are ignored.
Memory foam mattresses also carry a 15-year warranty on the premium organic cotton circular knit cover on the Nu Gel 12-inch.
Owner reality check: BBB reviews include a lifetime-warranty owner told service would cost 75 dollars for a visit plus 175 dollars for the part plus 25 dollars shipping, a Legacy owner told a motor computer would cost about 100 dollars, and reviewers who say the current owners bought the name and no longer honor older lifetime warranties.
Warranty documents for the 2026 line: Not published as of Sept 2026 on the live site; the terms above are from the official warranty page and warranty PDFs archived from craftmatic.com.

Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
. BBB (checked Sept 2026): Craftmatic Adjustable Beds is NOT BBB accredited, has an F rating, and BBB lists the reasons as failure to respond to 99 complaint(s) filed against business and 6 complaint(s) that were not resolved; the company has 2 locations (5192 SW 27th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 headquarters and PO Box 668700, Pompano Beach, FL 33066) and BBB reports 16 years in business.
BBB customer reviews average 1.13 out of 5 across 23 reviews. Trustpilot: Craftmatic Organization Inc. is rated 3.2 out of 5 but from only 1 review, with 0 reviews in the last 12 months; that single review (January 2024) describes two Dual King systems ordered July 2023 with a 30-day promised delivery that never arrived and calls that stopped being answered. SiteJabber / SmartCustomer: Craftmatic has 0 reviews and a 0.0 rating and does not proactively collect reviews (checked Sept 2026).
SlumberSearch aggregates dozens of Craftmatic customer reviews: praise for comfort, the dual firm/soft choices, massage, helping leg cramps and sales reps, alongside complaints about a mattress that never arrived after a 760-dollar payment, a mattress running hot, 150-dollar replacement remotes, 75-dollar service calls, 175-dollar parts, warranty service refused on a lifetime-warranty bed, and delivery crews refusing to haul old mattresses away.
ConsumerAffairs hosts a Craftmatic Adjustable Beds review hub with 1,000+ reviews and a comparison page listing 4,897 Craftmatic Adjustable Beds reviews (titles seen via search), but the pages block automated access, so the rating and review text could not be verified as of Sept 2026.
WFLA-TV's Better Call Behnken consumer segment published a story headlined complaints pile up against the Florida-based adjustable bed company; the article itself was not accessible to us, but BBB reviewers reference being featured on WFLA three times over delayed deliveries. ComplaintInfo.com and Ripoff Report also carry Craftmatic adjustable bed complaint threads.
Bottom line: strong legacy brand recognition, but current-period reviews skew heavily negative and centre on non-delivery, refunds, service and defective mattresses rather than on the mattress materials themselves.

Chapter 10
What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Coil mattresses (Model I and the Dual Density flagship): all Model I mattresses are hot-glue laminated to prevent component shifting; in the US the full/double mattress uses a 312-coil Bonnell spring unit with 312 five-turn oil-tempered coils tied with double-knotted oil-tempered steel helical wire, engineered to bend; a flexing polypropylene net insulator sits over the springs, then a garnetted synthetic fiber pad, then multiple layers of non-allergenic foam, then a decorator ticking of natural cotton and polyester blend; the result is a dual-sided, reversible, dual-density mattress - firmly supportive on one side, plush on the other with nearly 2 extra inches of fill including 1.5 inches of convoluted egg-crate foam.
Luxury Firm adds firm quilt foam, comfort foam, visco memory foam and a shock-absorbing safety base over a Bonnell unit. Plush Soft adds a plush topper, Talalay latex and hyper-soft quilt foam.
Memory foam line: CertiPUR-US certified (physical performance, indoor emissions, environmental stewardship), available in 8, 10 and 12-inch thickness, HD polyfoam support base, premium organic poly-cotton circular knit cover, premium ultra-suede border; Nu Gel 12-inch is 4 inches high-density eco-conscious memory foam plus 2.5 inches premium memory foam plus 1.5 inches gel-infused memory foam over an 8-inch HD polyfoam base.
Model I Latex 12-inch is a 6-inch latex core with 2 inches of 24 ILD latex and hyper foam quilt on the soft side and 2 inches of 40 ILD latex with 7/8-inch firm foam quilt on the firm side, and contains no visco memory foam.
For context, the adjustable base (not the mattress) uses a high-strength steel frame dipped in non-toxic lead-free enamel, Hubbell linear actuators, ETL-tested-to-UL962 motors and electronics, and 5/8-inch plywood, OSB or warp-resistant particle board decks. Chapter 11
Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.
Direct only, by phone, with no retail channel found. Craftmatic sells through its own phone operation (888-539-6985 on the live site; 800-245-0205 on archived pages and in BBB records) and a free catalogue/video request form at craftmatic.com. We found no showrooms or stores: BBB lists only the Fort Lauderdale headquarters and a Pompano Beach PO Box, and the brand's site lists no dealer locator, store locator or showroom page.
No Craftmatic-branded listings were found on Amazon (a search returns unrelated adjustable bases) or Wayfair (searches return other brands) in our Sept 2026 checks, and no third-party retailer listings were found, although one 2024 BBB reviewer claimed to have read that Wayfair and Macys sell the beds - we could not verify any Craftmatic mattress listing on either site.
Service, parts and manuals are handled through the same phone numbers rather than a dealer network. Trying before buying is limited to the 30-day in-home trial; the only demos mentioned in reviews are in-home sales presentations and TV commercials.
International availability: the archived pages target the US (48 contiguous states for the trial) and there was a historic UK/Spanish content folder, but current UK availability is Not published as of Sept 2026. Chapter 12
Craftmatic vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Brand vs. other mattress brands. Craftmatic's own positioning: the number 1 best-selling adjustable brand ever, trusted for over 40 years, with the claim that its beds cost up to 50 percent less than Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number, plus a comparison page attacking competitors' longer 60/90/120-day trials, hidden return-shipping costs and mattress-only return policies, and boasting that consumers nationwide rate it number 1 on ConsumerAffairs.com.
Versus premium adjustable-bundle brands it actually competes with, such as Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number, Saatva, Purple, Nectar, Puffy and Helix: Craftmatic matches them on phone-based high-touch selling and dual/ split systems, and it does offer a genuinely useful reversible dual-density coil mattress and a 25-year pro-rata mattress warranty, but it loses on almost every modern buying standard - no published prices or specs, no online checkout, no independent testing, no free returns (you pay 699 to 999 dollars return shipping under a 30-day trial, versus 90 to 365-night free-return trials elsewhere), no showroom, an F BBB rating with 99 unanswered complaints, and 2024-2026 complaints about undelivered product and unrefunded money.
Versus mass-market adjustable bases from Leggett and Platt and others, Craftmatic's own Limited Edition base is in fact built by Leggett and Platt under a shorter 1/3/10 limited base warranty, so the honest comparison there is that you may be paying a large brand premium for a base you can buy elsewhere with clearer terms. Versus legacy US mattress factories with retail distribution, Craftmatic has no retail footprint to test in.
Where Craftmatic still wins: brand nostalgia, a dual-queen size some shoppers cannot find elsewhere, and in-home sales for buyers who cannot shop online.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Craftmatic. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
.
We began with the official site in September 2026. craftmatic.com now resolves to a single phone-lead form, so we verified which URLs are live and then rebuilt the current product, price, materials, trial, return and warranty picture from the Internet Archive's captures of the official pages:, model1_memory_foam.html (January 2025), monaco_monaco_royale.html (February 2025), bed_sizes.html, bed_mattress_construction.html, comfort_features.html, warranty.htm, refundpolicy.html, termsandconditions.html, customer_testimonials_us.html, mattresses.php (2021) and sitemap.html, plus the company's own 30day.pdf and le_warranty.pdf.
We then layered third-party evidence: the BBB business profile and its customer-reviews pages 1-3 (current, with reviews dated 2023 through September 2026), Trustpilot's Craftmatic Organization Inc.
Other sources: BBB profile, SiteJabber / SmartCustomer, SlumberSearch's Craftmatic review aggregation (2026), MyBestMattress's Craftmatic bed review (2025), WFLA's Better Call Behnken coverage and ConsumerAffairs' Craftmatic review hub (its rating is not quoted). We cross-checked retail availability on Amazon and Wayfair.
We did not invent any specification, price or review: where the brand and third parties publish nothing, the field says Not published as of Sept 2026, and customer-reported prices are labelled as such. Verdict logic prioritised the most recent 12-36 months of buyer experience over legacy brand claims.

Does Craftmatic still sell mattresses in 2026?
Yes, but only as part of phone-sold adjustable-bed sets. The website doesn't list a mattress page, spec sheet or price. Current model names, sizes and specs aren't published (checked September 2026).
Can I buy online or try one in a store?
No. The website is a lead form, and sales are by phone at 888-539-6985 or 800-245-0205. We found no showrooms or retailers, and no Craftmatic mattresses on Amazon or Wayfair.
What does a Craftmatic mattress cost?
The brand doesn't publish prices. Third-party reporting puts beds at about $1,800 to $6,000, with the Legacy near $6,000. BBB reviewers paid $3,918.27, $4,232.92 and $4,500 for bed-and-mattress sets in 2023.
What mattress types can I choose?
Archived 2025 official pages list a dual-density reversible Bonnell coil, luxury firm and plush soft with Talalay latex. They also list CertiPUR-US memory foam in 8, 10 and 12 inches, a 12-inch Nu Gel memory foam and a two-sided 12-inch Model I latex. Confirm current options on the call.
What are the trial and return terms?
You get a 30-day in-home trial on complete bed sets only. Returns are accepted from day 31 to day 45, with a full refund minus return shipping. Shipping is about $699 for one bed or $999 for a dual king. Latex and special orders are excluded, and it's 48 states only. A softer or firmer swap costs $90 or $180 in the same window.
Is the company reliable enough to buy from?
Be cautious. BBB rates Craftmatic F, with 99 unanswered complaints and 6 unresolved. Its 23 BBB reviews average 1.13 out of 5. If you still buy, get delivery dates, the model and the materials in writing. Pay by credit card.
