Dutch Craft (dutchcraft.net) is a family-owned American maker founded by Eli Schmucker. It hand-assembles mattresses in its own US factories. The Nightfall collection pairs phase-change and cool-touch fabrics with pocketed coils, high-density foams and natural latex. The flagships are the 16-inch two-sided Cambridge pillow-top and the 13-inch Essence latex hybrid. Each has a 15-year non-prorated warranty and is sold through local dealers. You'll find no published prices or brand-wide trial, so ask your dealer.
Best for shoppers who prefer an American-made, hand-assembled, dealer-sold mattress over a bed-in-a-box; back and stomach sleepers wanting firm pocketed-coil support (Cambridge Firm, Essence Firm); side and combination sleepers wanting a plush latex hybrid (Essence Plush); hot sleepers drawn to PCM and cool-touch fabrics; and durability seekers who like two-sided flippable designs.
Less ideal for online-only buyers wanting published prices, a brand-wide home trial, or doorstep delivery terms, none of which the official site publishes as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Side sleepers: start with Essence Plush or a Cambridge Plush or pillow-top for shoulder and hip cushioning over pocketed-coil support. Back sleepers: Cambridge Firm or Essence Firm for a level, supportive surface. Stomach sleepers: the firmer Cambridge options for minimal midsection sink.
Hot sleepers: PCM cool fabric (Cambridge) or cool touch fabric models (Essence, Serenity, Peace, Patience). Couples: pocketed-coil models (Cambridge, Essence) for reduced motion transfer. Durability-first buyers: two-sided flippable Cambridge, Bliss or Allure, flipped and rotated per care guidance.
Budget or trial-driven online shoppers: look elsewhere, since prices and a brand-wide trial are not published.

Which Dutch Craft feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Dutch Craft publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
The brand does not publish mattress prices (checked September 2026). The /shop page says the online store at shopdutchcraft.com is Coming Soon, and that site didn't load when we checked. We couldn't confirm any size-level pricing.
Official-site mattress prices: Not published as of Sept 2026. The /shop page says the online store at shopdutchcraft.com is Coming Soon, and so no size-level pricing is published.
Dutch Craft positions itself on honest pricing, arguing that skipping celebrity endorsements and national TV advertising lets it put money into foam, coils and fabrics, and that in-house foam cutting and sewing control costs; value therefore has to be judged at the dealer, where shoppers should compare quoted prices against the published build (coil unit, latex, HD foam) and the 15-year non-prorated warranty on Cambridge and Essence.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Two-sided flippable models (Cambridge, Bliss, Allure) are explicitly designed for extended durability versus one-sided builds, and the brand tells owners to rotate every 3 to 6 months for even wear. Supporting quality signals (published): hand assembly with stage-by-stage inspection, in-house foam cutting and sewing, high-density foams, pocketed-coil support, and non-prorated warranties including 15 years on Cambridge and Essence.
Independent long-term durability testing, sag-rate data and owner-reported lifespan figures: Not published as of Sept 2026; treat longevity as brand-claimed until dealer or owner data is available.

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
Brand-wide home sleep trial: Not published as of Sept 2026; no trial length, break-in requirement or return-fee schedule appears on the official site, so any comfort trial, exchange window or restocking fee comes from the selling dealer. Returns and exchanges: Not published as of Sept 2026 at brand level; confirm exactly who accepts the return, the deadline, mattress condition rules, and who pays return shipping or pickup.
Tip: because Nightfall specs vary by region, put the agreed model, comfort level, trial terms and fees on the sales receipt.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
terms: Not published as of Sept 2026. The official site states Dutch Craft ships to dealers across more than half the country but publishes no brand-level shipping speeds, delivery fees, white-glove setup, or haul-away policy, so all fulfillment terms are set by the selling dealer; get delivery timing, setup, stair or rural surcharges and old-bed removal in writing before purchase.

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
Cambridge and Essence each carry Warranty G, a 15-year non-prorated warranty. The brand warranty table runs from Warranty A (1 year) through Warranty H (20 years), all non-prorated, with length varying by model, so confirm the law tag. Covered: manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, body impressions over 1.5 inches, and structural coil or foam defects.
Not covered: cover fabric and handles, normal wear and comfort preference, and damage from improper support or misuse. Claims require the original receipt, a clean unstained mattress, a proper foundation with center support, and an attached law tag; transportation is the customer responsibility and remedy is repair or replacement at Dutch Craft discretion. Full text: https://www.dutchcraft.net/warranty-and-care.
Covered when the dip is deeper than 1.5 inches, measured with nobody on the bed.
Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
The official site publishes no on-page ratings, reviews or testimonials for Cambridge or Essence, and no review volume, average scores or complaint logs for the dutchcraft.net line were found on the brand site as of Sept 2026. Third-party review coverage and retailer ratings: Not published as of Sept 2026. The brand maintains a public Facebook page (DutchCraftMattressCompany) and a contact form, which are the visible feedback channels.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Collection-level (published): exclusive 1057 pocket coil system with phase change material fabrics; graphite memory foam on Hope, Peace and Patience; NanoCoil layer on Serenity; natural latex and HD plush foam on Ascend; hand-tufted builds (Bliss); Aarogy wellness technology (Regena Firm and Plush).
Brand-level (published): high-density foams, pocketed coils, gel-infused memory foam options, natural latex and eco-friendly options, two-sided construction options, all foams cut in-house and covers sewn in its own sewing division. Foam certifications and latex type or blend: Not published as of Sept 2026.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.
Try in store at authorized Dutch Craft dealers, found through the official Find a Retailer zip-code search covering dealers within 50 miles; the site notes model names, specs and availability may vary by region, so confirm the exact Cambridge or Essence build with the store.
Buy through the dealer; there is no working brand checkout as of Sept 2026, since the /shop page lists the online store at shopdutchcraft.com as Coming Soon and that domain did not resolve when checked. The site also offers a contact form for questions and a mattress-registration page for owners. Mail, phone or chat ordering details: Not published as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 12
Dutch Craft vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Versus national advertised brands: Dutch Craft explicitly contrasts its craftsman-built, low-marketing model with mass-produced brands that spend heavily on TV and endorsements, claiming the savings go into foam, coils and fabrics; independently verified spec-for-spec comparisons are Not published as of Sept 2026.
Versus bed-in-a-box brands: Dutch Craft is dealer-sold with no published bed-in-box, trial or online pricing, so online-convenience shoppers are better served elsewhere. Versus other two-sided flippable makers: the Cambridge, Bliss and Allure compete on flippability and 15-year (Cambridge) coverage, but head-to-head durability data is not published.
Versus latex hybrids: Essence (2-inch natural latex over pocketed coils) is the natural-leaning pick, though latex blend and certifications are unpublished.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Dutch Craft. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
Review process: official dutchcraft.net pages first (Nightfall collection page with full model list, Cambridge and Essence model pages with construction, benefits and warranty fields, About page for founder Eli Schmucker and factory history, Warranty and Care page with the A-to-H table and claim terms, Why We Are Different, Find a Retailer, Shop and Contact pages, as of Sept 2026); then third-party retailer and review sources, where we found no verifiable dutchcraft.net-line prices, trials or review aggregates.
The linked shopdutchcraft.com storefront was not available as of Sept 2026. Every item we could not find is labeled Not published as of Sept 2026.
