The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary

Yes, for most buyers. The Sapira Hybrid has 1,000+ individually wrapped springs under comfort foams.

The best-fit alternative is the Saatva Classic at $1,895 for a Queen. The Sapira Hybrid costs $1,599, which is $296 less. The Classic comes in three firmness levels, so couples who disagree on feel can pick one. The Sapira has one feel, rated 6.5/10.

Leesa still wins on price. Its Plus Hybrid is $1,319 for a Queen, and the brand says it is built for sleepers up to 500 pounds. Leesa also gives a 365-night trial. Pickup is free, except in Alaska and Hawaii, where returns cost $100.

Buy it only if you want a medium-firm bed and have slats 5.5 inches apart or closer.

Key Strengths
  • Fiberglass-free build. Leesa says its mattresses contain no fiberglass, and all foams are CertiPUR-US certified.
  • Strong motion isolation. Sleep Foundation gives the Leesa Original 8.2 overall and praises its excellent motion isolation, which helps if a partner tosses.
  • Long coverage. The limited lifetime warranty gives no-cost, non-prorated replacement for years 1-10.
Good to Know
  • Some fees apply. Returns from Alaska and Hawaii cost $100. In-home setup is $179 for one mattress.
  • You wait a bit. Standard shipping takes 5-8 business days. In-home setup usually takes 7-15 business days.
  • One feel, and base rules. The Sapira Hybrid is medium-firm at 6.5/10. A box spring voids the warranty.
Chapter 01

Is Leesa the best mattress for you?

Three questions decide this page. Do you want foam hug or spring bounce? Do you sleep hot? How much do you weigh? Answer those and the right Leesa is easy to spot.

Outside review scores
Review sites checked: 4 outlets. Their scores: four overall scores, each on its own scale. Model they tested: Leesa Original, medium firm, 10-inch profile. Each site tests in its own way, so read each row on its own.

Yes, for most buyers who want a medium-feel foam or hybrid bed. The best-fit alternative is the Saatva Classic at $1,895 for a Queen. It comes in three firmness levels, which helps couples who disagree. Buy Leesa for the 365-night trial.

Mattress models in the lineup

Hybrids, an all-foam bed, and two natural latex models, from $1,059 to $2,589 for a Queen.

When Leesa makes sense
  • You sleep hot: Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis both gave the Original a perfect cooling score.
  • You share a bed: Sleep Foundation praised the Original for excellent motion isolation, so a partner's moves travel less.
  • You want time to decide: Leesa suggests at least 30 nights to break in, and returns may start on night 31.
  • You weigh over 230 lbs and sleep on your back: Sleep Foundation picks the Plus Hybrid for that group. It holds sleepers up to 500 pounds and costs $1,319 for a Queen.
When Another Mattress May Suit You Better
  • You want spring bounce, or your partner wants a different firmness: the Saatva Classic costs $1,895. It comes in Plush Soft (3/10), Luxury Firm (5-7/10) and Firm (8/10).
  • You are plus-size or sleep on your stomach: Sleepopolis steers you to a taller, more robust model than the 10-inch Original. The 13-inch Plus Hybrid is one, at $1,319 for a Queen.
  • You want to lie on the bed first: Leesa is in select West Elm and Pottery Barn stores only. Plan on the home trial.

Reading the scores

Why we don't average the scores

Every site tested the Original, not the $1,599 Sapira Hybrid, so a score may not carry over to another Leesa model. GoodBed rates value on a 2019/2020 version. We show each score on its own and never blend them.

Each score comes from that outlet's own review. Prices, models and policies can change after a review.
Chapter 02

Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you

Why this matters to you: Pick the wrong feel and you sleep on it until you send it back. Leesa gives you 365 nights, and returns may start on night 31. Match the feel to your weight and sleep position first, and you may never need that return.

Leesa has no one best feel. Your weight and sleep position decide the pick. The tool and table below use Sleep Foundation's scores. Here are the picks for people over 230 lbs.

  • Side sleepers: the Sapira Chill Hybrid, Firm (7), scores 9/10.
  • Back sleepers: the Plus Hybrid, Medium Firm (6), scores 8/10.
  • Stomach sleepers: the Legend Hybrid, Medium Firm (6), scores 7.0.

Chapter 03

Compare the mattresses

Why this matters to you: The build decides the feel. Foam hugs, springs add bounce, and natural latex adds buoyant support. Pick the build first, then the model.

Ten Leesa mattresses sit in this lineup, and they differ in build, height and feel. The table lines them up with Queen prices.

Start with price and build. The Original ($1,059) is the all-foam bed and the cheapest. The Sapira Hybrid ($1,599) is the one the brand calls its best-seller, with springs under the foam. The Reserve ($2,589) costs the most.

The Plus Hybrid ($1,319) is built for sleepers up to 500 pounds, the brand says. The two Natural beds add latex, wool and organic cotton, at $1,335 and $1,574.

The Sapira Hybrid is Leesa's best-seller: a medium-firm hybrid at $1,599 for a Queen. Foam sits over 1,000+ individually wrapped springs, so it hugs a little and still pushes back. The brand says its plant-based GreenFlex foam has open cells that let heat escape.

The Original is the step down at $1,059, which is $540 less. It is all foam and rates 6/10. The Sapira Chill is the step up at $1,799, which is $200 more. It adds a cooling cover and a taller 14 in build.

One caution: Sleep Foundation's 8.2 score was for the Original, not this model. On Trustpilot, Leesa holds 4.5 out of 5 from 274 reviews. A few buyers there mention soft edges and cooling that fell short.

Best For

  • You want a medium-firm feel at 6.5/10. Leesa says it gives medium-firm support for back pain.
  • You share a bed. The brand says the wrapped springs cut motion, so a partner's moves stay on their side.
  • You want an 11 in bed with plant-based foam that the brand says stays cool.

Consider Instead If

  • You sleep hot: the Sapira Chill has a cooling cover and costs $1,799 for a Queen.
  • You weigh over 230 lbs: the Plus Hybrid costs $280 less at $1,319, and the brand says it holds sleepers up to 500 pounds.
  • You want all foam and a softer 6/10 feel: the Original is $1,059.

The Sapira Chill is Leesa's cooling hybrid, sold in three firmness levels. A cooling quilt top sits over foams and 8-inch zoned lumbar springs. The springs add support at the hips and edges. It stands 14 inches tall.

A Queen costs $1,799. That is $200 more than the Sapira Hybrid at $1,599. It is $260 less than the Legend Chill at $2,059, which adds a second spring layer. The Oasis Chill is $150 cheaper at $1,649.

Check the cooling before you commit. Some Trustpilot reviewers were disappointed with the cooling. Others said soft edges let sheets slip. If you sleep hot, test it early in the 365-night trial.

Best For

  • You weigh over 230 lbs and sleep on your side. Sleep Foundation scored the Firm (7) version 9/10 for that group.
  • You want a plush option. It comes in Plush at 4-5/10, as well as Medium-Firm and Firm.
  • You want springs under your hips. The 8 in zoned lumbar springs add support there.

Consider Instead If

  • You want a firmer, cushion-firm feel at 6-7/10. The Oasis Chill is $150 less at $1,649.
  • You weigh well over 230 lbs. The Plus Hybrid supports sleepers up to 500 pounds and costs $480 less at $1,319.
  • You want two spring layers. The Legend Chill has up to 3,788 micro and zoned springs for $260 more.

The Original is the lowest-priced Leesa, an all-foam bed with no springs. Two inches of GreenFlex foam, a plant-based foam, sit over 2 inches of memory foam and a 6 inch base. Sleep Foundation scores it 8.2 overall.

It sits at the bottom of the lineup, so there is no step down. The next step up is the Plus Hybrid at $1,319, which is $260 more for springs and a 13 in build. The Sapira Hybrid costs $1,599, which is $540 more.

The caution is firmness. Leesa rates it 6/10, but Sleepopolis rates it 7 out of 10 and Mattress Clarity 7.5 out of 10. It may feel firmer than the label says. Sleepopolis also says plus-size and stomach sleepers may want a taller, sturdier model.

Best For

  • You want the lowest Leesa price and a bed with no springs.
  • You sleep hot. Sleepopolis and Mattress Clarity both gave it a perfect cooling score.
  • A partner moves a lot at night. Sleep Foundation praised its excellent motion isolation.

Consider Instead If

  • You weigh more or sleep on your stomach; the Plus Hybrid costs $260 more and supports sleepers up to 500 pounds.
  • You want bounce and springs; the Sapira Hybrid costs $540 more and has 1,000+ wrapped springs.
  • You want a choice of firmness; the Saatva Classic costs $836 more at $1,895 and comes in three feels.

Cooling Copper-infused foam

The Oasis Chill is a huggable hybrid with a cooling top. Leesa describes it as cushion-firm, 6-7/10, so it holds you up but still gives. It stands 13.5 in tall. Under the cooling cover sit 1.5 in of copper-infused memory foam and 8 in of zoned lumbar springs, which are springs set up to back your lower back.

It sits mid-range in the lineup. The Sapira Hybrid costs $1,599, which is $50 less, and it is only 11 in tall. The Sapira Chill costs $1,799, so it is $150 more, and it comes in three feels. The Legend Chill costs $2,059, which is $410 more. At $1,649 for a Queen, the Oasis Chill is the cheapest of the cooling-top beds.

One caution on cooling: it is the brand's claim for this bed. Some Trustpilot reviewers of Leesa beds said cooling disappointed them, and some said soft edges let sheets slip. Try it for the full 365 nights if you sleep hot.

Best For

  • You want a cushion-firm feel and a cooling top for $1,649, which is $150 under the Sapira Chill.
  • You like springs under the foam: 8 in of zoned lumbar springs back your hips and lower back.
  • You want a deeper bed at 13.5 in without paying the $2,059 the Legend Chill costs.

Consider Instead If

  • You want a plush feel: the Sapira Chill comes in Plush (4-5/10) for $150 more.
  • You weigh a lot: the Plus Hybrid is $330 less at $1,319 and is built for sleepers up to 500 pounds.
  • You and a partner disagree on firmness: the Saatva Classic comes in three feels for $1,895, which is $246 more.

The Legend Hybrid is Leesa's plush dual-spring bed. It has 1.5 in of micro-springs over 6 in of steel springs, plus memory foam and a cover with organic cotton and Merino wool. Leesa says the two spring layers relieve pressure and nearly stop motion transfer. Sleep Foundation rates its feel as medium firm (6).

The Sapira Hybrid is the step down at $1,599, which is $290 less. The Legend Chill is the step up at $2,059, which is $170 more. It swaps the wool cover for a cooling cover and adds a gel-infused quilt foam layer. The Legend sits at $1,889 against a $2,709 list price.

The wool cover is Leesa's answer to heat, and it is a brand claim. Some Trustpilot reviewers of Leesa beds said the cooling let them down. If you sleep hot, price the Legend Chill first.

Best For

  • You want a plush feel with springs. Sleep Foundation says it suits stomach sleepers who weigh at least 130 lbs.
  • You like a cotton and Merino wool cover, which the brand says helps control temperature and wick moisture.
  • You share a bed and want two spring layers that the brand says cut motion transfer.

Consider Instead If

  • You want to spend less; the Sapira Hybrid costs $290 less at $1,599.
  • You sleep hot; the Legend Chill has a cover built to pull heat away and costs $170 more at $2,059.
  • You are a heavier sleeper; the Plus Hybrid is $570 less at $1,319, and Leesa says it supports sleepers up to 500 pounds.

The Legend Chill is Leesa's cooling hybrid with two spring layers. The brand says its quilt top wicks heat away. Under it sit up to 3,788 micro and zoned springs, plus responsive foams. The brand says they ease pressure and keep a partner's moves from shaking your side. It is 13.5 inches tall and feels medium, 6/10.

The Legend Hybrid is a step down at $1,889. That is $170 less, but it has a cotton and Merino wool cover, not a cooling top. The Reserve is the step up at $2,589. It costs $530 more and adds a graphite layer the brand says pulls 22% more heat away. The Legend Chill sits at $2,059 between them.

Heat is the one caution. On Trustpilot, Leesa has 4.5 out of 5 from 274 reviews. A few reviewers said the cooling let them down, and some said the edges felt soft. Those notes cover Leesa as a whole, not this bed alone. Use the 365-night trial to test it, and give it at least 30 nights.

Best For

  • You sleep warm and want a cooling top, but $530 less than the Reserve.
  • You share a bed. The brand says its two spring layers and foams limit motion you feel from a partner.
  • You want a 6/10 medium feel without choosing a firmness. The Sapira Chill comes in three.

Consider Instead If

  • You want to spend less: the Legend Hybrid is $170 less at $1,889, and the Sapira Chill is $260 less at $1,799.
  • Cooling is your top need: the Reserve at $2,589 adds a graphite layer the brand says pulls 22% more heat away.
  • You want a firmer bed: the Oasis Chill is 6-7/10 cushion-firm and $410 less at $1,649.

Firmness 6.5/10 medium-firm

The Reserve is Leesa's top-priced hybrid, designed with West Elm. It stacks two cooling layers and two spring systems, and it feels medium-firm at 6.5/10. The brand says its SteadyCool layer of five graphite strips pulls 22% more heat away for 12+ hours.

It sits at the top of the lineup, so there is no step up. The step down is the Legend Chill at $2,059, which costs $530 less and also has two spring systems, but no graphite layer. The Sapira Chill is $1,799 ($790 less) and the Sapira Hybrid is $1,599 ($990 less).

The one caution is cooling. The graphite claim comes from the brand. Some Trustpilot reviewers (4.5 out of 5 from 274 reviews) say they were let down by cooling on Leesa beds. Hot sleepers should use the 365-night trial before deciding it was worth the top price.

Best For

  • You sleep hot and want two cooling layers: a cooling cover plus five graphite strips.
  • You share a bed and want two spring systems that the brand says limit motion transfer.
  • You like a medium-firm 6.5/10 feel with 13 inches of height.

Consider Instead If

  • You want to spend less: the Legend Chill is $530 cheaper at $2,059 and also has two spring systems.
  • You weigh over 230 lbs: the Plus Hybrid is $1,270 cheaper at $1,319 and is built for sleepers up to 500 pounds.

The Plus Hybrid is Leesa's heavier-duty hybrid. It stands 13 inches tall. Under the foam sit up to 981 steel springs. Leesa rates it 7.5/10 medium-firm. The brand says it supports sleepers up to 500 pounds. Leesa lists a 1,000 lb total limit for it, against 600 lb for its other beds.

At $1,319 for a Queen, it is the lowest-priced hybrid Leesa sells. The all-foam Original costs $1,059, which is $260 less. The softer Sapira Hybrid (6.5/10) costs $1,599, so the Plus is $280 less than the Sapira Hybrid.

Sleep Foundation scores it 8/10 for back sleepers over 230 lbs. It scores 7/10 for back sleepers under 130 lbs. Lighter sleepers may like a softer bed, so look at the Sapira Hybrid first.

Best For

  • You weigh over 230 lbs. Sleep Foundation names it best for people over 230 lbs, side and back sleepers.
  • You want the lowest hybrid price in the lineup: $1,319 for a Queen.
  • You want edge support and less motion from your partner. The brand says the springs are built for both.

Consider Instead If

  • You want a softer bed: the Sapira Hybrid is 6.5/10 and costs $280 more. The Sapira Chill in Plush (4-5/10) costs $480 more.
  • You and a partner disagree on feel: the Saatva Classic comes in Plush Soft (3/10), Luxury Firm (5-7/10) and Firm (8/10). It costs $1,895, which is $576 more.
  • You want to spend less: the Original costs $1,059, which is $260 less. Sleep Foundation scores it 8.2.

Natural Essential Hybrid Mattress, product photo
Construction Organic cotton, wool, natural latex and steel springs
Profile 10 in
Firmness Medium
Queen $ $1,335
Queen weight 109 lbs

The Natural Essential is the cheaper of Leesa's two natural hybrids, made with West Elm. It has an organic cotton cover, a New Zealand wool top, and 1.5 in of natural latex over steel springs. The brand says the wool and cotton stay temperature-neutral and the latex pulls heat away. At 10 in tall, it is a slim bed.

It sits below the Natural Luxe, which costs $1,574 against $1,335 here. That is $239 more for 13 in of height, plus added memory foam and GreenFlex foam. Outside the natural line, the all-foam Original costs $1,059, which is $276 less than the Natural Essential.

One caution: do not put it on a box spring. Leesa says that voids the warranty. Slats wider than 5.5 in apart can void it too, so check your frame first.

Best For

  • You want certified natural materials: GOTS wool and GOLS latex, for $239 less than the Natural Luxe.
  • You want a cotton and wool surface that the brand says stays cool and dry.
  • You want up to 1,032 wrapped springs made from 98% reclaimed steel, which the brand says add motion isolation and edge support.

Consider Instead If

  • You want more cushion; the Natural Luxe is 13 in tall and adds memory foam for $239 more.
  • You want to spend less; the all-foam Original costs $1,059, which is $276 less than the Natural Essential.
  • You weigh over 230 lbs; the Plus Hybrid costs $1,319, which is $16 less than the Natural Essential, and the brand says it supports sleepers up to 500 pounds.

Queen weight 113 lbs

The Natural Luxe is a medium-firm hybrid built from natural materials. Designed with West Elm, the Natural Luxe uses an organic cotton cover, New Zealand wool, and natural latex over 1,032 reclaimed steel springs. GreenFlex foam, a plant-based foam, adds pressure relief. The brand says its fire barrier is fiberglass-free. It stands 13 in tall and rates 6.5/10 for firmness.

In the lineup, the Natural Essential is the step down. It is 10 in tall and costs $1,335 in Queen, which is $239 less than the Luxe at $1,574. The Sapira Hybrid is a foam and spring bed at $1,599 and rates 6.5/10 too. The Legend Hybrid is the step up in comfort at $1,889, a gap of $315.

The caution is the base. Leesa says a box spring voids the warranty, and slats must be no wider than 5.5 inches apart. The warranty covers sag only when the dip is visible and deeper than 1.5 inches. Use a flat, sturdy platform.

Best For

  • You want natural latex, wool, and organic cotton. The latex is GOLS certified and the wool is GOTS certified.
  • You like a medium-firm feel at 6.5/10 with some bounce from latex and springs.
  • You want latex and plant-based foam for $25 less than the Sapira Hybrid ($1,574 vs $1,599).

Consider Instead If

  • You want the same natural materials for less; the Natural Essential costs $1,335, which is $239 less.
  • You weigh a lot; the Plus Hybrid supports up to 500 pounds per sleeper, rates 7.5/10, and costs $1,319.
  • You want a choice of three feels; the Saatva Classic offers Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm for $1,895, which is $321 more.

Why this matters to you: A Queen Sapira Hybrid costs $1,599, against a list price of $2,139. Compare sale prices across models, since each bed also shows a higher crossed-out price.

Leesa's Queens run from $1,059 for the Original to $2,589 for the Reserve Hybrid. Judge each bed by its sale price, because every one also shows a higher list price.

The Sapira Hybrid, the brand's best-seller, runs from $1,079 for a Twin to $1,799 for a King or Cal King. Its Queen is $540 more than the Original and $990 less than the Reserve Hybrid.

The Plus Hybrid Queen costs $1,319, which is $280 below the Sapira Hybrid. Leesa says it supports sleepers up to 500 pounds. If you weigh less, the Sapira Hybrid or Original may be enough.

Chapter 05

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Why this matters to you: Beds soften with use, and the terms around a bed can matter as much as the foam. Leesa says up to 10 years with care, so check the base and the warranty rules before you buy.

Leesa says its mattresses are built to last up to 10 years with care. The warranty covers a visible dip deeper than 1.5 inches. Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis each gave the Original a perfect cooling score.

Every Leesa is foam or foam over steel springs. The Original is all foam. The hybrids add steel springs, and the Natural models use springs made from 98% reclaimed steel. The brand says the Plus Hybrid has sag-resistant foams and supports sleepers up to 500 pounds. Leesa lists 600 pounds combined for its other beds, 300 pounds per side.

What to watch for, and when:

  • First 30 nights: Leesa suggests at least 30 nights to break in. Returns may start on night 31.
  • Within 30 days of delivery: open the box. Leesa recommends not leaving the mattress packed longer.
  • Set up the base right: slats should be no wider than 5.5 inches apart. A box spring voids the warranty.
  • Any time: a visible dip deeper than 1.5 inches is what the warranty covers. Stains, tears, burns, pet damage, and spills are excluded.

Who owns Leesa: 3Z Brands announced its acquisition of Leesa Sleep on March 15, 2023.

Where sources disagree

  • Cooling claims differ: Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis each gave the Original a perfect cooling score. Some Trustpilot reviewers and one BBB reviewer say cooling disappointed them.
  • Owner scores differ: Leesa's site claims over 20,000 5-star reviews. Trustpilot shows 4.5 out of 5 from 274 reviews, BBB 4.59 from 66, and Amazon 4.1 out of 5 from 764 ratings.
  • Original firmness differs: Sleep Foundation calls it medium (5), Sleepopolis rates it 7 out of 10, and Mattress Clarity 7.5 out of 10. Leesa lists it at 6/10.

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees

Why this matters to you: You get a full year at home to decide on a mattress. Check your ZIP code and the exclusions before you order, since adjustable bases cannot come back once they are out of the box.

Leesa gives you a 365-night trial on mattresses. Pickup costs nothing, except in Alaska and Hawaii, where returns cost $100.

  • 30 nights for foundations, frames and bedding.
  • 30 nights for pillows, sheets, protectors and other accessories.
  • 120 nights for the Natural Crib Mattress.
  • Adjustable bases cannot be returned once removed from the box.

Leesa suggests you sleep on the bed for at least 30 nights so it can break in. Returns may start on night 31. Outside Alaska and Hawaii, mattress and foundation pickup is free, so sending the bed back costs you nothing there.

The fee only touches Alaska and Hawaii. Everywhere else, you pay nothing to return a mattress or foundation. Your refund goes to the original payment method. It usually takes 5-10 business days after Leesa gets and checks the bed. Your bank or card may add a few more days.

You get one exchange per customer or household. Inside the trial, you can do a direct swap or return the bed and reorder. FedEx Ground shipping is free. If you want In-Home Setup and Removal again, you must buy it again for the new bed.

Check the terms for your seller and order date before buying from Leesa.
Chapter 07

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal

Why this matters to you: A Sapira Hybrid Queen weighs 115 lbs and arrives compressed in a box. The $179 setup service unboxes and builds the bed for you, so you skip the heavy lifting.

Standard shipping is free. Your mattress ships in a box within 5-8 business days. Add in-home setup and it usually takes 7-15 business days after purchase.

Leesa ships the compressed mattress in a box straight to your door. It takes the standard route unless you add the setup service. In-Home Setup and Removal by Ryder costs $179 for 1 mattress. It works in any room of your home. Old mattress removal is part of that same price, so you do not pay a second fee. Ryder contacts you to book a time.

Typical wait: 5-8 business days; 7-15 with setup

  1. Order ships: the compressed mattress goes out in a box within 5-8 business days.
  2. Book a time: if you add setup, Ryder contacts you to schedule once your items are ready.
  3. Setup: the crew unboxes the mattress and assembles it in any room you pick.
  4. Old bed and packaging: they haul away the box and the mattress you are replacing.

What do the warranties cover?

Why this matters to you: Leesa's warranty is limited lifetime, but full replacement lasts only 10 years. A claim also needs a dip deeper than 1.5 inches and a base that follows the rules.

Warranty claims come down to how deep the sag is and what the bed sits on. Leesa covers a visible dip over 1.5 inches, and a wrong base can void the warranty.

  • Sag rule: visible indentation greater than 1.5 inches.
  • Base rule: slats no wider than 5.5 inches apart, and no box spring.
  • After year 10: replacement is prorated, at 50% in years 11-15, 60% in years 16-20, and 75% from year 21.
  • How long it lasts: Limited lifetime warranty.
  • How coverage drops over time: Years 1-10: free replacement. Years 11-15: 50% of retail. Years 16-20: 60%. Year 21 on: 75%.
  • Dip depth it covers: Visible indentation greater than 1.5 inches.
  • What voids it: Not covered: stains, tears, burns, pet damage, or spills.

Platform bed OK, with limits Use a firm, flat, and sturdy surface. Slats wider than 5.5 inches apart can cause sagging and could void the warranty.
Adjustable base OK, with limits Use a matching adjustable bed base. Sag from an unsupportive adjustable base is not covered as indentation.
Metal frame OK, with limits Pair the metal frame with a Leesa foundation. Slats wider than 5.5 inches apart can cause sagging and could void the warranty.

Customer reviews and complaints

Why this matters to you: Leesa's site highlights 20,000+ 5-star reviews. Trustpilot and the BBB are outside sites, and they show what can go wrong. Read both pools before you buy.

Trustpilot shows 4.5 out of 5 from 274 reviews. The BBB shows a 4.59 average from 66 customer reviews. We read both on October 14, 2026, and we keep them apart.

How we read the reviews
  • We compare Leesa's own site, Trustpilot, the BBB and the Amazon listing for the Leesa Original.
  • We keep each pool apart and never blend the scores.
  • We note the date we read each site: October 14, 2026.

Amazon shows 4.1 out of 5 from 764 ratings, but only for the Leesa Original 10-inch Queen listing. Each site uses its own scale, so we do not average them. Leesa's site counts 20,000+ 5-star reviews.

Read each platform on its own: who runs it, its rating scale, how many reviews it has, and the date we checked it.

Reported praise and concerns:

  • What owners like: comfort, support, and easy checkout, delivery and setup.
  • What owners dislike: back pain, extra bounce, soft edges that let sheets slip, and cooling that falls short.

Chapter 10

What are the mattresses made of?

Why this matters to you: What is inside decides how the bed feels, how hot it sleeps, and how long it lasts. It also tells you which fire barrier sits under the cover.

Leesa builds with foam over steel springs, plus natural latex and wool in two models. The table shows the layers in each model, and the cards below show what each safety label covers.

Nine of the ten models are hybrids: foam comfort layers over steel springs. The Original is all foam. Natural Essential and Natural Luxe add organic cotton, New Zealand wool and natural latex. Most other models use GreenFlex BioFoam, a plant-based foam with an open-cell design that lets heat escape. Leesa says its mattresses contain no fiberglass. The fire barrier is fire-retardant yarn with a rayon barrier.

Safety labels, and what each one covers

Each label below checks one part of the bed, not the whole thing. Here is what each one covers.

CertiPUR-US®
Leesa says all foam layers in all its mattresses
Tests foam for emissions, content, and durability. It does not cover springs, fabric or the whole bed.
GREENGUARD Gold
Leesa says all its mattresses
Tests for chemical emissions, with lower limits at Gold level. It checks fumes, not materials.
Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)
Natural Essential and Natural Luxe: natural latex
Requires at least 95% certified natural rubber latex in the polymer content. It covers the latex layer only.
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Natural Essential and Natural Luxe: New Zealand wool
Sets rules for organic textiles and responsible processing. It covers the wool, not the whole bed.
What these labels do and don't prove

No single label covers the whole bed. CertiPUR-US checks foam. GOLS checks latex. GOTS checks wool and textiles. GREENGUARD Gold checks fumes. Read which models and layers each one names.

Chapter 11

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?

Why this matters to you: A short test in a store beats any spec sheet. Lying on a bed first can save you a return, and Leesa mattresses also come with a 365-night trial.

Leesa sells online and in select West Elm and Pottery Barn stores. Try a bed in a store if one is near you.

Where it sells: Online, plus in select West Elm and Pottery Barn stores.

Leesa vs. other mattress brands

Why this matters to you: This card shows the best-fit rival for one need: a choice of firmness. Compare its Queen price with the Sapira Hybrid before you pick.

The Saatva Classic wins on firmness choice. It comes in three feels and two heights.

Pick it if you and a partner disagree on firmness. Stay with the Sapira Hybrid to keep $296.

Quick Answers

Quick Answers Before You Buy

Short answers to the questions buyers ask most about safety, materials, trials and warranty.

Check the model you want, since a few answers change from bed to bed.

Safety and materials

Are Leesa mattresses made from safe materials?

Leesa says yes. It says all its mattresses are fiberglass free and GREENGUARD Gold certified. That label means the bed was tested for chemical emissions.

Does the Leesa mattress contain fiberglass?

Leesa says its mattresses contain no fiberglass. The fire barrier is fire-retardant yarn with a rayon barrier, made in a fiberglass-free factory.

Is the Leesa mattress toxic?

Leesa says all foams in its mattresses are CertiPUR-US certified. That label means the foam was tested for emissions, content and durability.

Will my new mattress have a smell?

A slight scent is possible when you unwrap the mattress, Leesa says. Give the bed some air after you open it.

Can I use a heating pad or electric blanket with my Leesa mattress?

Yes. Leesa says you can use a heating pad or electric blanket with its mattress.

Buying and policies

Do Leesa mattresses sleep hot?

Leesa says its foam layers are made to pull heat away from your body. Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis each gave the Original a perfect cooling score. One BBB reviewer said a Leesa bed was not cooler than a standard mattress, so hot sleepers should look at the Chill models with a cooling cover.

Are Leesa mattresses suitable for people with back pain or other concerns?

Leesa says the Original and Sapira Hybrid offer medium-firm support. Leesa rates the Sapira Hybrid 6.5/10 and the Original 6/10. Sleep Foundation rates the Plus Hybrid 8/10 for back sleepers over 230 lbs.

Are Leesa mattresses good for couples or motion isolation?

Leesa says each mattress offers excellent motion isolation. Sleep Foundation also praised the Original for excellent motion isolation, so a partner's moves should stay on their side.

Which Leesa mattress is right for me?

For side sleepers, Leesa points to the Sapira Hybrid, Sapira Chill Hybrid and Legend Hybrid. Sleep Foundation picked the firm (7) Sapira Chill for side sleepers over 230 lbs.

Is memory foam or hybrid better for my sleep needs?

Pick a hybrid if you want more support and bounce. Leesa says hybrids pair foam comfort layers with springs. The all-foam Original costs $1,059 in Queen, and the Sapira Hybrid costs $1,599.

Does the Leesa mattress need a box spring?

No. Leesa says using the mattress directly on a coil box spring voids the warranty. Use a firm, flat, sturdy base, and keep slats no wider than 5.5 inches apart.

How long will a Leesa mattress last?

Up to 10 years with care, Leesa says. The warranty gives no-cost, non-prorated replacement in years 1-10.

What is the trial period for Leesa products?

Mattresses get 365 nights. Leesa recommends at least 30 nights to break in, and returns may start on night 31. Pillows, sheets and other accessories get 30 nights.

Does Leesa provide a warranty?

Mattresses have a limited lifetime warranty. It covers visible indentation greater than 1.5 inches. Stains, tears, burns, pet damage and spills are excluded.

Is the Leesa mattress made in the USA?

Leesa says its mattresses are designed and assembled in the USA.

How long can the Leesa mattress stay in the box?

Open it within 30 days of delivery. That is what Leesa recommends for a mattress shipped in its box.

What's the weight capacity for Leesa mattresses?

The general limit is 600 lb combined, or 300 lb per side. The Plus Hybrid is rated for 1,000 lb total, so it suits heavier couples.

Is a Leesa bed-in-a-box right for me?

Yes, if you want it at your door. The mattress arrives rolled in a compact box with free standard shipping, usually within 5-8 business days.
