The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary

Luma Sleep was a Florida direct-to-consumer latex brand, founded in 2015. It sold USA-made latex and pocketed-coil beds from about $650 to $2,600. You got a 100-night trial, free returns, a free first-year comfort-layer swap and a 10 or 15-year warranty. The company appears to have wound down, and its site is now a parked page. That means the warranty and trial are gone. If you find a Luma on the secondhand or clearance market, you're buying at your own risk. It's an interesting latex line, but nobody is left to back it.

Chapter 01

Is Luma Sleep the best mattress for you?

Good fit: shoppers who want a firm, bouncy, breathable latex-hybrid feel rather than memory foam; stomach sleepers and back sleepers who like firm support (Sleepopolis scored the medium Luma about 7 of 10 firm and called it ideal for stomach sleepers); hot sleepers, because open-cell latex plus pocketed coils breathe well (Sleepopolis named it a good pick for hot sleepers); eco-minded buyers who want Talalay or 100% natural Dunlop latex, a Tencel knit cover and USA assembly with very little polyfoam; tinkerers who value a swappable comfort layer, since Slumber Systems let owners change firmness for free in year one.

Poor fit: strict side sleepers, because testers measured heavy hip and shoulder pressure on the medium Luma and advised stricter side sleepers to look elsewhere; couples and light sleepers who need motion isolation, since Sleepopolis found the Luma did not isolate motion particularly well, which is normal for latex; shoppers who need an enforceable warranty today, because the brand looks defunct and owners have posted since 2022 that they cannot reach the company (see the Trustpilot complaint headlined Their warranty is a scam, Nov 20 2022, and the r/Mattress thread from Nov 2023 citing The Mattress Underground reports that Luma Sleep was winding down); larger and high-BMI sleepers, because the brand's own Natural Latex Hybrid page said Not recommended for high BMI customers; bargain hunters, because rivals such as Sleep On Latex start near $799 queen while Luma's entry queen listed at $850-$1,195.

Verdict: a genuinely interesting latex line with a good trial and exchange policy that is now only a secondhand or clearance purchase at your own risk, because the manufacturer side of the transaction no longer exists.

Chapter 02

Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you

Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.

Positions and body types, brand-level (model-level data exists only in the form of the two-layer systems and their firmness choices).

Side sleepers: the official line was Plush for side sleepers, and the Natural Latex Hybrid page told side sleepers to pick Plush; note that independent testers judged the base Luma mattress too firm for strict side sleepers and measured notable hip and shoulder pressure on the medium version, so a plush pillow top or topper is the safer build.

Back sleepers: fine in Medium and Firm, since Sleepopolis found the Luma really comfortable on the back at 7 of 10 firm, while adding that people who want more lumbar contouring should go softer. Stomach sleepers: the sweet spot, because the coil-and-latex build kept hips in line with shoulders and produced neutral spinal alignment in testing.

Combination sleepers: good, because latex and coils respond quickly to position changes and the brand positioned Medium for combo sleepers. Couples: mixed, because motion transfer was a weak point in testing; a king with a split comfort layer (Split Plush-Medium or Split Medium-Firm) is the most practical couples build, and the all-latex model isolates least well on the edges.

Hot sleepers: good, because open-cell latex and pocketed coils both breathe. Heavier sleepers: the brand itself said the Natural Latex Hybrid is not recommended for high BMI customers, and heavier owner reviews on GoodBed scored back support and pressure relief poorly, so look elsewhere.

Allergy and chemical-sensitive shoppers: the line was built around natural latex, natural Tencel and CertiPUR-US foams, which The Sleep Judge called a strong point. Solo sleepers who want all-latex: fine, since the absent coils matter most for edge support and partner motion.

Which Luma Sleep feel fits you?

Weight chart not yet researched

Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Luma Sleep publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.

Four alignment checkpoints against a neutral posture line Neck Shoulders Lower back Hips level with spine sink in, no pinch no gap below no sag Straight spine line
  1. Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
  2. Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
  3. Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
  4. Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.

Compare the mattresses

Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.

Luma Sleep lists 5 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.

The brand ran four mattress lines on the 2023 site menu (Original Luma Mattress, Hybrid Mattress Slumber System, Natural Latex Hybrid Mattress, 100% Natural Latex Mattress); GoodBed's database still lists 9 active Luma models counting firmness variants. (1) Original Luma Mattress - also written Luma Mattress or Luma Latex Mattress (GoodBed models: Luma, Luma Medium Firm, Luma Firm). Positioning: one-piece bed-in-a-box hybrid, the entry model.

Specs: 11 in nominal profile, size chart says 11.5 in; 2 in 100% natural latex comfort layer over an 8 in QE Bolsa pocketed-coil support system on 1 in HD base foam; natural breathable super-soft Tencel cover; no-flip. Firmness: Medium and Firm sold (Sleepopolis tested a medium and scored it 7 of 10 firm; The Sleep Judge reported the range across Luma models as roughly firm 7.5 of 10, medium-firm 6 of 10, plush 3.5 of 10).

Trial and warranty: 100-night in-home trial, free delivery and returns, 10-year warranty. Archived 2022 pricing (sale/list): Twin $650/$900, Twin XL $700/$925, Full $800/$1,150, Queen $850/$1,295, King $1,050/$1,595, Cal King $1,100/$1,595.

Sleepopolis's later chart listed Twin and Twin XL $795, Full $1,095, Queen $1,195, King $1,495, and gave the model a 4.2 of 5 Sleepopolis score with a 4.8 of 5 average customer rating. (2) Natural Latex Hybrid Mattress - the brand labelled it Best Seller. Positioning: customizable latex hybrid for all sleep positions.

Specs: 14 in two-layer system; an 11.5 in pocket-coil and latex mattress (2 in natural latex transition layer over 8 in QE Bolsa pocketed coils and 1 in HD base foam) plus a separate exchangeable 2 in or 3 in latex pillow top; buyer picks Talalay or 100% natural latex, 4 in or 5 in total latex, and Plush, Medium or Firm; split-king pillow-top options offered; natural Tencel cover.

Official guidance: Plush for side sleepers, Medium for combo sleepers, Firm for back and stomach sleepers; explicitly Not recommended for high BMI customers. Trial and warranty: 100-night trial, free returns, free comfort exchange up to 1 year, 10-year warranty per the compare page (site banners also showed 10 Year Warranty brand-wide).

Older pricing (Queen, mid-2022): $1,350 sale against $1,695 list; Twin XL $1,050; Full $1,450-$1,600; King $1,900; Cal King $1,900; a Cyber Monday listing from the same period showed the line at $1,199 list with sale prices from $805. (3) Hybrid Mattress Slumber System - GoodBed lists it as Luma Hybrid Latex Slumber in Plush, Medium Firm and Firm. Positioning: the flagship coil-and-latex system with a swappable top.

Specs: 14 in two-layer system; 11 in zoned pocketed-coil base mattress plus an exchangeable 3 in latex pillow top (Talalay runs about $100 more, or choose 100% natural); 2 in HD NRG foam transition layer over an 8 in QE Combi-Zone coil support system and 1 in HD base foam; natural Tencel cover; ships with a waterproof knit mattress protector, and the compare page also listed two free Jacquard pillows; split configurations available (Split King Plush-Medium or Medium-Firm, split Twin XL).

Trial and warranty: 100-night trial, free returns within 100 days, free pillow-top comfort exchange in year one, 15-year warranty. Older pricing (25 percent off sale): Queen $1,421 sale against $1,895 list; Twin $971; Full $1,346-$1,421; King $1,721-$1,796; Cal King $1,796-$1,871.

SleePare's undiscounted chart listed Twin $1,095, Twin XL $1,195, Full $1,495, Queen $1,595, King $1,895, Cali King $1,995 at 14 in, and scored the model 99 overall, 93 popularity, 90 user score, 92 quality, 91 pro score. (4) All Latex Mattress Slumber System - GoodBed: Luma All Latex Slumber System in Plush, Medium Firm and Firm. Positioning: all-latex alternative to the hybrid system, for sleepers who want zero coil feel and maximum latex.

Specs: 11 in two-layer all-latex system; 8 in progressive-firmness zoned latex mattress - GoodBed's spec sheet lists a 6 in firm Dunlop latex core plus 2 in medium-firm Talalay latex - under an exchangeable 3 in latex pillow top, on 1 in HD base foam; natural Tencel cover; includes two Jacquard pillows and a mattress protector; no-flip.

Note: because there are no coils, The Sleep Judge rated its edge support below the two hybrids and called it best for those who sleep alone. Trial and warranty: 100-night trial, free returns, free first-year pillow-top comfort exchange, 15-year warranty.

Older pricing (25 percent off sale): Queen $1,946 sale against $2,595 list; Twin $1,121; Twin XL $1,196; Full $1,646-$1,796; King $2,321-$2,471; Cal King $2,396-$2,471. (5) 100% Natural Latex Mattress - the newest line, on the June 2023 menu. Pricing: $2,195 list.

Specs: 9 in of 100 percent natural latex built as 3 in firm natural Dunlop over 3 in medium-firm N4 natural Talalay, 2 in medium N3 natural Talalay and 1 in plush N2 natural Talalay; luxurious natural Tencel fabric cover; Talalay made in the USA by Talalay Global; mattress made in California; optional 2 in plush Talalay topper; page carried 15-year warranty and 100-night trial icons and free shipping.

Mattress prices and value

Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.

Prices and value. Entry point: Original Luma Mattress at $650-$1,100 sale by size in 2022 captures, with list prices $900 (Twin) to $1,595 (King or Cal King); Sleepopolis later listed $795 (Twin and Twin XL) to $1,495 (King) before discounts. Mid point: Natural Latex Hybrid Mattress, roughly $1,050 (Twin XL) to $1,900 (King or Cal King), with a $1,695 list queen that sold at $1,350, and earlier captures around $1,195 list.

Upper point: Hybrid Mattress Slumber System, $971 (Twin) to $1,871 (Cal King) on a 25 percent off sale against $1,895 list queen, or $1,095-$1,995 at the undiscounted SleePare chart. Top of range: All Latex Mattress Slumber System, $1,121 (Twin) to $2,471 (Cal King) on sale against a $2,595 list queen, and the 100% Natural Latex Mattress at $2,195 list.

Value read: the brand's whole pitch was more latex and fewer cheap foams per dollar than typical bed-in-a-box hybrids, and reviewers agreed the materials were good for the money - The Sleep Judge called the prices below average given the quality, and Sleepopolis rated the Luma a durable latex buy at a mid-to-premium price.

Against rivals, though, value is thinner than it looked: MillennialHawk's comparison put Sleep On Latex at $799+ queen, below Luma's $995 queen at that time, and Luma never matched Saatva's or PlushBeds' support infrastructure at the same price.

The constant promotions also cut both ways: the brand ran 20 to 35 percent off almost continuously (25 percent New Year 2022, 30 to 35 percent Cyber Monday, 30 percent Cyber Monday Week, 20 percent Summer 2023), which makes list prices hard to take seriously and resale values weak.

Extras that added value while the brand lived: free shipping and free mattress returns, a free first-year comfort-layer exchange, two free Jacquard pillows and a mattress protector with the Slumber Systems, 0 percent APR financing up to 24 months through Affirm on purchases of $99 or more, a 10 percent military and first responder discount and 5 percent teacher and student discount verified through VerifyPass, and a Refer a Friend program.

Chapter 05

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.

Brand-side: Luma offered a 15-year warranty on both Slumber Systems and a 10-year warranty on the Luma Mattress, three to five year warranties on toppers and wood foundations, and one year on pillows and other accessories, and its site claimed the products would maintain functional integrity for the specified warranty period.

Materials favour long life on paper: latex is a naturally long-lasting comfort material and pocketed coils resist body-impression better than all-foam cores, which is why Sleepopolis called the Luma durable and specifically noted the latex-plus-hybrid build as a plus for heavier sleepers worried about premature sagging. Independent and owner evidence is much worse.

GoodBed's owner panel (12 real owner experiences, still listed as 83 of 100 overall) scores Back Support 55 of 100, Pressure Relief 54, Sleep Quality 57 and Stays Cool 70, with Value, Warranty Service and Average Lifespan left N/A - an unusual pattern that means the brand never supplied enough service data for those fields.

MillennialHawk's 2026 roundup reports owner complaints of sagging within about 18 months to two years, cites third-party aggregator data scoring durability 2 out of 10, and describes a pattern of strong early impressions followed by durability failures.

GoodBed owner reviews from 2024-2026 include an eight-year owner who still rates sleep quality 5 of 5 but only 2 of 5 for staying cool, and a four-year owner who rates back support 1 of 5 and pressure relief 2 of 5 with the mattress described as moderately worn; a Trustpilot reviewer in Nov 2022 described a hole in the mattress causing back pain and the claim being refused.

Practical read: latex layers usually outlast polyfoam, so the failure reports cluster around either the specific latex or the assembly and around warranty enforcement rather than the concept - and since the brand appears to have closed, no warranty claim can be pursued now.

Specifics not published as of Sept 2026: the indentation or sag depth that triggers a warranty claim, the detailed warranty PDF that the site said was supplied with each order, and any independent durability testing (no RTINGS, Consumer Reports or lab fatigue test results were located).

Chapter 06

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees

Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.

Sleep trial, returns, exchanges and fees.

Trial: 100-night sleep trials on all mattress systems and 30-night trials on most other sleep-related products; the returns page required a minimum of 30 nights of use before initiating a mattress return so the body could acclimate to latex, while a 2019 Sleep Judge review reported the opposite - that there was no mandatory break-in period and a refund could be requested immediately - so the official policy page is the better guide.

Deadlines: return requests had to be received within 100 days of delivery for a mattress system and within 30 days for all other products.

Mechanics: returns were initiated through an online Wufoo form, then a Luma Exchange/Return Department representative arranged pickup; mattress systems were picked up by a charity or logistics partner and returned or donated, while other products went back via FedEx Ground, and Luma recommended keeping the original packaging for non-mattress returns to control costs.

Fees and conditions: mattresses returned free, with the return shipping included in the refund; non-mattress products required the customer to pay return shipping; a photo of the product could be required before pickup, and a product judged damaged, mishandled or abused could be refused; refunds covered the full purchase amount less special shipping services, with in-home and white-glove delivery fees non-refundable, Canada-delivered purchases non-refundable, and refunds reduced by $100 if the customer had already used a Comfort Exchange; refunds took 3 to 5 business days back to the original payment method.

Comfort exchange: on Slumber Systems and the Natural Latex Hybrid the 3 in comfort layer or pillow top could be swapped for a plusher or firmer insert free within the first year, which the brand marketed as better than a return; The Sleep Judge reported that after the first year an exchange cost 20 percent of the new comfort layer plus $50 shipping.

Not published as of Sept 2026: any restocking fee, any specific return-rate disclosure, and confirmation of what happens to trial and return rights now that the brand appears closed. In practice, since the site is a parked page and owners report no support since 2022, assume no trial or return is available today.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal

Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.

. Standard shipping: free shipping to the continental US, with free international shipping, duties and taxes to Canada on product pages; mattresses arrive compressed and rolled in a box, with Slumber System comfort layers and pillow tops arriving in a second box; the brand said the mattress expands in about an hour and The Sleep Judge reported off-gassing clearing in 24 to 48 hours.

Speed and carriers: The Sleep Judge reported an average of 1 to 5 business days via UPS Ground or FedEx, deliveries available to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada, and no reversing of refused deliveries; orders within one to two days of delivery could not be altered.

White-glove and removal: white-glove service was limited to the lower 48; in the 2019-era policy it was free on the All Latex Slumber System and $99 on the Hybrid Latex and Luma mattresses, with old-mattress removal an extra $60, while the 2022-and-later checkout offered paid upgrades of $125 for in-home mattress-only setup, $250 for in-home new-mattress install plus old-mattress set removal, and $125 for old-mattress removal and recycling.

Sleepopolis's review notes the box is heavy and recommends a helper for unboxing. Foundation requirements: no box spring needed - a hard flat surface or a slatted bed frame works, and the brand sold matching bases including a Luma adjustable bed base, a modern platform bed, a slatted wood RTA foundation and a free-standing slatted RTA foundation, with wood foundations warrantied 5 years.

Note that in-home and white-glove delivery fees were non-refundable under the returns policy.

Typical wait: 1 to 5 business days

What do the warranties cover?

Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.

Warranty coverage.

Term by line, from the brand's warranty page: fifteen (15) years on the Slumber Systems, ten (10) years on the Luma Mattresses, five years on wood foundations, three years on latex toppers, one year on all pillows, and one year on all other products unless the product page said otherwise; site banners and product badges summarized this as a 10 Year Warranty brand-wide and the Slumber System pages carried a 15-Year Warranty badge.

What it covered: Luma guaranteed the products would be free of defects in workmanship and materials and would maintain functional integrity for the specified period, and if a mattress or pillow top was deemed defective due to a manufacturing defect during the warranty life, it would be repaired or replaced at no cost, at Luma's sole discretion, with Luma covering repair or replacement shipping and handling and the customer not charged.

Conditions: the warranty applied only if the mattress was used on a proper foundation system; the detailed warranty PDF was supplied with the order or by email, and a copy could be requested from support@lumasleep.com; claims were filed through an online warranty claim form, by phone at 800-982-9846 or by email, and Luma required photographs of the problem to investigate.

Exclusions and thresholds: Not published as of Sept 2026 for the sag or indentation depth that triggers coverage, the full exclusion list, transferability to a second owner, and the exact proof-of-purchase requirements.

Practical status: with lumasleep.com now a parking page and owner reports since 2022 of unreturned calls and refused claims (Trustpilot, Nov 20 2022), the warranty should be treated as unenforceable today regardless of what the archived policy says.

Measuring a mattress dip with a straight edge and a ruler Straight edge across the bed Dip depth Mattress, nobody lying on it

Covered when the dip is deeper than Not yet researched, measured with nobody on the bed.

  1. Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
  2. Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
  3. Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

Customer reviews and complaints

Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.

Reviews and complaints.

Brand-site and review-site ratings: Sleepopolis scored the Luma mattress 4.2 of 5 and reported a 4.8 of 5 average customer rating from brand-site reviews; The Sleep Judge gave the line 4.65 of 5 overall with comfort 4.68, motion transfer 4.6-4.7, off-gassing 4.65 and trial and warranty 4.65; GoodBed shows 83 of 100 from 12 real owner experiences; SleePare's page scores the Hybrid Latex Slumber System 99 overall, 93 popularity, 90 user score, 92 quality and 91 pro score; Trustpilot rates Luma Sleep Bad at 1.7 of 5 on the lumasleep.com profile.

Praise themes: cushioning latex feel with support, genuinely customizable firmness through the swappable layer, healthy and natural materials, cooling, and attentive early customer service - 2018-2019 Trustpilot reviews describe quick phone responses, overnighted replacement parts and replacements for spotted covers, and a GoodBed owner with eight years on the bed still rates sleep quality 5 of 5.

Complaint themes: (a) firmness and pressure, with Sleepopolis noting the most common customer complaint is that the mattress is too firm and strict side sleepers reporting hip and shoulder pressure; (b) sagging and loss of support within roughly one and a half to two years in several owner reports, with owner scores on GoodBed for back support and pressure relief in the low 50s out of 100; (c) warranty refusal and poor claim handling - the Nov 20 2022 Trustpilot review headlined Their warranty is a scam describes a mattress hole that caused pain and photos being rejected, and a separate review is headlined Luma will not offer a warranty to overweight sleepers; (d) returns and service failure - a 2020 reviewer describes the company offering runaround alternatives, then going silent until a credit card dispute, then requiring the customer to arrange delivery against policy; (e) order and fulfillment problems, including a 2018 reviewer who never received a third-party product that was oversold and could not get chat replies, and 2026 Trustpilot reviews for a Luma Aura pillow that shipped from China and compressed flat. the recurring pattern is a small company with genuinely good materials and a generous trial and exchange policy that could not fund the service or claims side as volume grew, and the complaints that matter most - sagging and denied claims - cluster after the sale, not at it.: ConsumerAffairs (https://www.consumeraffairs.com/furniture/luma-sleep.html) and the Walmart listing and seller pages.

Chapter 10

What are the mattresses made of?

Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.

Core approach: every mattress mixed open-cell latex with individually pocketed coils or all-latex cores, wrapped in a natural Tencel knit cover that the brand described as breathing like cotton and feeling like silk; the brand claimed over 90 percent responsive, breathable materials rather than the sofa-cushion foam used in many boxed beds.

Latex: buyer's choice of Talalay or 100 percent natural Dunlop latex in the pillow tops, with the Talalay option costing about $100-$200 more; the 2023 100% Natural Latex Mattress used a graded stack of 3 in firm natural Dunlop plus 3 in medium-firm N4, 2 in medium N3 and 1 in plush N2 natural Talalay, and the brand noted Talalay made in the USA by Talalay Global.

Coils: 8 in QE Bolsa pocketed coil support in the Original Luma Mattress and Natural Latex Hybrid, and an 8 in QE Combi-Zone zoned coil system in the Hybrid Slumber System, over a 1 in high-density base foam; the Natural Latex Hybrid added a 2 in natural latex transition layer and the Hybrid Slumber System a 2 in HD NRG foam transition layer.

All-latex builds: an 8 in progressive-firmness zoned latex mattress (6 in firm Dunlop plus 2 in medium-firm Talalay per GoodBed) topped by the exchangeable 3 in latex pillow top. Covers and included goods: natural Tencel cover on every model, waterproof knit mattress protector and two Jacquard pillows with the Slumber Systems, and no-flip designs throughout (rotate, do not flip).

Certifications and third-party marks the brand displayed on its certifications page or footer: Eco Institut certification, IAF and IAF Product Certification, Talalay Global certification, Sleepfoundation.org Best Organic Mattress 2020, a Tuck.com best mattress of the year logo, BBB Accredited Business, Mattress Recycling Council, Recommended by Sleep Doctor Michael Breus PhD, Recommended by The Mattress Underground, and Accessible360 review; the page's headline claim was that the mattress and topper lines are made using 100 percent natural products, and a quoted review on the archived home page mentioned OEKO-TEX certified Talalay latex.

The Sleep Judge reported CertiPUR-US certified foams in the line. Not published as of Sept 2026: a downloadable GOLS or OEKO-TEX certificate for the finished mattresses, any organic-cotton or wool content certification, and any full flame-retardant or emissions disclosure beyond the CertiPUR-US statement.

Manufacturing: mattresses and pillow tops made and assembled in the USA, with 2022 product pages saying Made in California or Indiana and later pages saying Made in California; Talalay supplied by Talalay Global.

Chapter 11

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?

Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

Where to buy. Sales were direct-to-consumer only: the brand sold through lumasleep.com with no showrooms, no dealer network and no retail chain placement that we could find, and the site is now a parked domain, so there is currently no official place to buy.

While operating, phone and email support ran through (800) 982-9846 and info@lumasleep.com with warranty claims to support@lumasleep.com, and the company address was in Bradenton, Florida (company listings show 4914 Lena Rd #103, Bradenton FL 34211 and 14621 E State Road 70 E, Bradenton FL 34202).

The only surviving third-party listing we could locate is a Walmart marketplace page for the Original Luma Mattress (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Original-Luma-Mattress/2699457580) plus its seller shop page (https://www.walmart.com/global/seller/101333659/cp/shopall); neither could be verified as of Sept 2026, and no Amazon listing was found.

SleePare (sleepare.com) publishes a Luma Hybrid Latex Slumber System review with affiliate buy links and operates showrooms in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami and other cities, but Luma is not in SleePare's current brand set, so there is no documented showroom where a Luma can be tried today. Sleepopolis, The Sleep Judge and MillennialHawk all host affiliate or legacy links, most of which now point at a dead domain.

Chapter 12

Luma Sleep vs. other mattress brands

Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.

Brand versus other mattress brands. Versus Saatva: Saatva wins on everything structural - physical showrooms, an enforced warranty, active phone support and a similar bouncy hybrid feel - while Luma's edge was latex instead of memory foam in the comfort layer and lower sale prices; an owner who needs service should choose Saatva.

Versus Sleep On Latex: Sleep On Latex is the closest like-for-like pure latex brand and still sells at roughly $799+ queen where Luma's entry queen sat near $850-$1,195, so Luma's price advantage was thin and its durability complaints remove it entirely.

Versus PlushBeds, Naturepedic and Avocado: those brands carry deeper organic certification paperwork, GOLS and organic-cotton credentials and long-term warranty support, so eco shoppers get more defensible certifications there even though Luma's Talalay, Dunlop and Tencel build was real.

Versus mainstream bed-in-a-box hybrids such as Casper, Helix and DreamCloud: Luma wins on materials honesty and cooling, since it used latex and coils rather than thick polyfoam and memory foam layers, and it wins on firmness customization through the swappable layer; it loses on motion isolation, weight limits, trial enforcement, showroom access and, now, on the existence of the company.

Versus an all-latex bed from SleepOnLatex or Avocado: Luma's All Latex Slumber System at $1,946-$2,595 competed on layered zoned latex with a swappable top, which is a genuinely different construction, but no one can service it now. Versus Tempur-Pedic and other contouring memory-foam beds: different job entirely - Luma was bouncy, firm and responsive, so memory-foam lovers who want sink will not like it.

Bottom line comparison: Luma was a credible mid-premium latex specialist that competed on materials and adjustability and lost on service, scale and, ultimately, survival.

How we research and report

This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Luma Sleep. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.

Our review process. lumasleep.com is now a parked domain, so every official claim here comes from older (2022 and 2023) versions of the brand's own pages - the home page, the warranty, returns, compare, about, contact and certifications pages, and the Original Luma Mattress, Natural Latex Hybrid, Hybrid Slumber System, All Latex Slumber System and 100% Natural Latex Mattress product pages - and dates are stated wherever figures such as prices or thicknesses could have changed over time.

Anything attributed to the brand is labelled as brand-reported; third-party and independent evidence is labelled with its source and date, including Sleepopolis (score 4.2 of 5, firmness 7 of 10, motion and side-sleeper findings), The Sleep Judge (2019-era policy and material detail), GoodBed (83 of 100 from 12 owner experiences plus per-model spec sheets), SleePare (undiscounted price chart and scores), Trustpilot (1.7 of 5 with dated complaint text), MillennialHawk (2026 roundup citing aggregator durability data and shutdown reports), and the r/Mattress thread from Nov 2023 citing The Mattress Underground.

We could not confirm ConsumerAffairs, Walmart or BBB information as of Sept 2026, and we did not treat search-result or aggregator claims as confirmed fact. Gaps - the warranty sag threshold, certification paperwork, current ownership of the brand, and any remaining support channel - are recorded as not published or not found as of Sept 2026.

Buying and policies

Is Luma Sleep still in business?

There's no sign of an operating business. The site is parked, and the last real storefront copy is from June 2023. Reddit and Mattress Underground posts from late 2023 said it was winding down. Treat it as discontinued.

Can I still buy a Luma mattress new?

Not from the brand. There are only occasional outside listings, like a Walmart marketplace page for the Original Luma Mattress. We couldn't verify its current seller terms.

What did Luma mattresses cost?

The Original Luma was about $650 to $1,100. The Natural Latex Hybrid was about $1,050 to $1,900. The Hybrid Slumber System was $971 to $1,995. The All Latex Slumber System was $1,121 to $2,595. The 100% Natural Latex Mattress listed at $2,195. The brand ran 20 to 35 percent off almost constantly.

What was the best part of the brand?

The swappable comfort layer. Owners of the Slumber Systems and Natural Latex Hybrid could swap the pillow top for a plusher or firmer one free in the first year.

What was the worst part?

Support after the sale. Reviews also cite a firm feel, weak motion isolation, sagging within about two years and denied warranty claims.

Do I still have warranty or trial rights?

The policies promised 100 nights and a 10 or 15-year warranty. With no company to file against, they're unenforceable in practice. Don't buy a used Luma expecting support. You'd be on your own.
