Kingsdown's 12 core models are coil beds, in plush to firm feels, for shoppers who want a classic innerspring or hybrid bed. If sagging worries you, look elsewhere, since owners on GoodBed and BBB describe sagging, and GoodBed owners also describe unanswered warranty claims. A Queen runs $1,149 to $3,049. You get 100 nights to decide on beds bought from Kingsdown's site, and a return costs a $150 restocking fee.

Key Strengths
If you sleep on your back or stomach and weigh 150 to 300 lbs, NapLab rates the $1,149 Prime Parkman a fit.
If you like a lively bed, NapLab found very high bounce on the $1,149 Prime Parkman.
Good to Know
If you sleep on your side, NapLab rates the $1,149 Prime Parkman a poor fit at every weight it lists.
If you sleep hot, NapLab faulted the $1,149 Prime Parkman for holding heat, and Kingsdown says its beds can make some heat.
If you fear early sagging, Sleep Like The Dead says at least 20% of owners of older Kingsdown innerspring models report it within three years.
You can swap once during the trial, and a missing center support voids the warranty.
Why this matters to you: NapLab scored the Prime Parkman, not the plush Select Syrah, so its result fits firm-bed shoppers best.
The $1,149 Prime Parkman is a fit for back and stomach sleepers from 150 to 300 lbs, and NapLab found very high bounce on it. Side sleepers get a weaker case.
Outside review scores
Review sites with a score: 1 outlet. Their scores: 7.72, Prime Parkman only. Model they tested: Prime Parkman, firm 12 in coil bed. Each site tests in its own way, so read each row on its own.
The $1,149 Prime Parkman is the Kingsdown bed NapLab found very bouncy, and NapLab scored it 7.72 out of 10 overall. If you sleep hot or want stronger test results, the Saatva Classic is the best-fit alternative, since NapLab scored its Luxury Firm, 11.5 inch version 9.48 out of 10, and it also comes in a Firm feel. The reason to buy Kingsdown anyway is price: a Queen Prime Parkman costs $1,149, while the Queen price Saatva's page shows by default for the Saatva Classic is $2,229.
7.72/10
NapLab, Prime Parkman
NapLab scored the Prime Parkman 7.72 out of 10 overall, praising its bounce but faulting its pressure relief.
7.55/10
Cool Start, not in lineup
NapLab scored the Insignia Cool Start 7.55 out of 10 overall, but the Cool Start is not one of the 12 models on this page, so its score says nothing about them.
When Kingsdown makes sense
You sleep on your back or stomach and weigh 150 to 300 lbs, where NapLab rates the Prime Parkman a fit.
You like a lively surface, since NapLab found very high bounce and a fast response on the Prime Parkman.
When Another Mattress May Suit You Better
You sleep hot: NapLab scored the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm, 11.5 inch version, 10 out of 10 for cooling, while it faulted the Prime Parkman for heat retention.
You weigh 300 to 500 lbs: Saatva says the Saatva HD is built for sleepers up to 500 lbs, and a Queen costs $3,639.
You want latex instead of coils: the Zenhaven, at $3,699 for a Queen, is natural latex with a medium side and a firm side.

Reading the scores
Why we don't average the scores
Each NapLab score covers one model in one feel, so the Prime Parkman's 7.72 tells you little about the plush Select® Syrah.
Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: NapLab rates the Prime Parkman No for side sleepers at every weight, so side sleepers should not pick it on these results.
NapLab rates the Prime Parkman a fit for back and stomach sleepers from 150 to 300 lbs, but not for side sleepers at any weight it lists.
Back sleepers from 150 to 300 lbs get a Yes.
Stomach sleepers in that range get a Yes too.
Side sleepers get a No at every listed weight.

Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Most models also come in a second feel at the same price, so pick the feel page, not just the model name.
Kingsdown's 12 core models are coil beds, from the $1,149 Prime Parkman to the $3,049 Select® Syrah, in hybrid and innerspring builds.
Eight of the 12 models come in a second feel at the same Queen price, such as a Plush Passions Bankwell beside the Cushion Firm one. The table shows one feel per model. Kingsdown names its feels in words, with no 1 to 10 number.
The 3 Prime models are innerspring beds, and the other 9 are hybrids. Queen coil counts run from 800 in the Prime Parkman to 1,904 in the two Select® beds.
Why this matters to you: The set price with a foundation runs $300 more than the mattress alone on a Select Syrah Queen, so check which option is in your cart.
A Queen Kingsdown costs $1,149 to $3,049, and the Select® Syrah runs $2,699 for a Twin to $3,349 for a King.
These are mattress-only prices. A Select® Syrah set with a foundation costs more, at $3,349 for a Queen.
The Select® Syrah page promises free White Glove service, which brings the bed to the room you choose, and the delivery chapter covers its limits. If you send back a bed bought on Kingsdown's site, Kingsdown charges a $150 restocking fee.
Why this matters to you: The warranty counts only an unrecoverable dip of 1 inch on non-quilted beds and 1.5 inches on quilted ones, so measure a dip with nothing on the bed before you file a claim.
GoodBed owners report an average lifespan of 11.2 years for Kingsdown beds, while Sleep Like The Dead, reviewing older innerspring models, grades durability d+. The two cover different beds and different owners.
Every one of these 12 models rests on wrapped coils under foam, latex or wool. Sleep Like The Dead calls thick pillow-top innerspring models the most troublesome for sagging, based on older Kingsdown beds. Of the 12 models here, only the Prime Summitview is an innerspring with a Euro pillow top.
What to watch for, and when:
Kingsdown started in Mebane, North Carolina, in 1904, and it still makes beds under that name.
Novacap, a Canadian private equity firm, has held a majority stake since 2018 after backing the Kingsdown Canada merger.
Somnigroup, the parent of Tempur Sealy and Mattress Firm, took a 25% passive stake in Kingsdown in October 2025.
Who owns Kingsdown: Novacap-backed Owen & Company (Kingsdown Canada) merged with Kingsdown Inc. in April 2018. Kingsdown started in Mebane, North Carolina, in 1904.
Where sources disagree
Sleep Like The Dead says at least 20% of owners of older Kingsdown innerspring models see sagging within three years, while GoodBed owners report an average lifespan of 11.2 years.
A GoodBed reviewer says sag must pass 1.5 inches to win a claim, but the warranty counts an unrecoverable dip of 1 inch on non-quilted beds, measured with nothing on the bed.
Kingsdown's FAQ says no center support may void the warranty, while its warranty booklet says it will void it, so plan on the stricter rule.
Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Kingsdown's pages disagree on whether a return is free or costs $150, so get the fee in writing before you return a bed.
Kingsdown gives you 100 nights to try a mattress, and a return costs a $150 restocking fee.
The 100 nights start on delivery day.
You can make one exchange in that time.
Foundations, pillows, sheets and protectors are left out.
The trial covers mattresses sold on Kingsdown's own site, and the bed must come back clean and undamaged, with no stains, rips or burns. PureCare accessories have their own 30-day window with a $15 fee per item.

Kingsdown's refund policy sets the $150 restocking fee on a mattress return, but its customer-service FAQ calls returns free of charge, so confirm the fee with Kingsdown before you send a bed back.
You get one exchange within the trial, and Kingsdown's customer-service FAQ calls an exchange free of charge.
Chapter 07
Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery takes 2 to 3 weeks and no date is promised, so keep your old bed set up until the new one is booked in.
A Kingsdown mattress typically arrives 2 to 3 weeks after you order, because each one is made to order.
The Select® Syrah page promises free White Glove service on all mattress orders in one line and on hybrid orders in another, so count on it for the hybrids. White Glove means the team brings the bed to the room you choose and sets it up, though in-home setup is not offered in some cities and states. Orders ship to the contiguous U.S., except Connecticut, Rhode Island, Alaska and Hawaii. Old-bed removal is unclear: one Kingsdown FAQ includes it with premium White Glove, while another charges $79.
Typical wait2 to 3 weeks
Kingsdown builds your mattress to order, and it is ready to ship in 10 business days.
The finished bed travels to a local final delivery center near you.
Kingsdown emails tracking once that center has your mattress.
The center calls you to book a delivery time that works for you.
Figure 7.1: What happens between your order and your first night.
Chapter 08
What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A frame with no center leg can void the whole warranty, not just foundation cover, so check your frame before setup.
The Select® Syrah carries a 10-year warranty, and for other Kingsdown beds the model you buy sets the length.
A dip counts at 1 inch on non-quilted beds or 1.5 inches on quilted ones, measured with nothing on the bed.
A poor frame, no center support or any stain voids it.
You pay transportation and handling fees on a claim.

Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: BBB's A+ grade sits beside a 1.75 out of 5 BBB review average, so read each BBB number on its own.
Kingsdown's ratings depend on the site: GoodBed owners give it 71 out of 100 from 8,695 ratings, and BBB reviewers give 1.75 out of 5 from 12 reviews. Trustpilot shows 3.3 out of 5 from 1 review.
What to weigh in these ratings
We read the Kingsdown pages on GoodBed, BBB and Trustpilot.
We read the testimonials on Kingsdown's own home page.
We kept each site's score in its own row, never averaged.
Pool size changes how much a rating means. GoodBed's 71 out of 100 rests on 8,695 ratings, while Trustpilot's 3.3 out of 5 rests on 1 review. BBB lists 7 complaints in the last 3 years, with 1 in the last 12 months.
Reported praise and concerns:
Owners on BBB and Kingsdown's own site praise the comfort and support they felt on their beds.
Owners on GoodBed, BBB and Trustpilot describe sagging, and GoodBed owners also describe unanswered warranty claims.

Chapter 10
What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Cooling layers are Kingsdown's claims, not test results: the Prime Parkman has a gel fiber quilt, yet NapLab still faulted it for holding heat.
The 12 Kingsdown models on this page are made of wrapped coils topped with gel foam, memory foam, latex or wool, depending on the model. Every model in the lineup has coils.
The Select® beds use a Dunlop latex blend and Joma wool, while the Insignia beds use CoolActive gel memory foam and a phase change cooling layer, Kingsdown says. The Passions and Prime beds share a Fresh Comfort quilt with cooling gel fibers, with gel foams or Tri-Tech memory foam beneath, and Comfort Flex gel foam shows up on the Allsworth, Bankwell, Glencastle, and Summitview. Most models have high-density foam edges, but the Prime Parkman and Prime Summitview use perimeter coils.

Safety labels, and what each one covers
Why these labels matter to you: A label shows what an outside group checked. Each one covers only its own topic, such as foam. The labels run from most to least important. Gray means we did not find the label for this brand, which is not proof the brand lacks it.
CertiPUR-US
The foam in all Kingsdown products, per Kingsdown
CertiPUR-US checks that the foam inside meets standards for content, emissions and durability, with low VOCs. It certifies the foam, not the mattress. It ranks first because it is an outside foam standard.
Sleep to Live Institute
Postural support of every Kingsdown mattress, per Kingsdown
Kingsdown says it tests and certifies every mattress with the Sleep to Live Institute for postural support. It covers postural support only. It ranks second because it is a Kingsdown claim with no certifier page behind it.
What these labels do and don't prove
Each label covers only what its certifier says: CertiPUR-US covers the foam, not the mattress, and the Sleep to Live Institute rating is Kingsdown's claim about postural support.
Our safety page explains law tags, foam and fabric labels, and what each one means.
Chapter 11
Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: The 100-night trial covers beds sold on Kingsdown's own site, so check the store's own return terms if you buy from a retailer.
You can buy Kingsdown beds on Kingsdown's own site or from a nearby retailer such as Mattress Warehouse, and its Find a Retailer page helps you find a store.
Where it sells: Kingsdown's own site and retailers such as Mattress Warehouse
Chapter 12
Kingsdown vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: These gaps use the $3,049 Select® Syrah Queen, mattress only, so a set with a foundation, at $3,349, changes the math.
The Saatva Classic Luxury Firm, 11.5 inch version has the higher NapLab score, 9.48 out of 10 against 7.72 for the Prime Parkman. A Saatva Classic Queen costs $820 less than the $3,049 Select® Syrah Queen, going by the $2,229 Saatva's page shows by default.
Kingsdown still wins on entry price, because the $1,149 Prime Parkman costs less than every Saatva bed in this chapter.
Each card compares a Queen price from Saatva's site with the $3,049 Select® Syrah, Kingsdown's first-listed model.

Saatva HD for bigger bodies
Pick for heavier sleepers
Saatva HD$3,639
Hybrid innerspring, 15.5 in, Medium-Firm 5 to 7/10
Why choose over Kingsdown: The Saatva HD is a hybrid innerspring with a Medium-Firm feel of 5 to 7 out of 10, which Saatva rates for sleepers from 300 to 500 lbs. Saatva says it is engineered to support up to 500 lbs, and it feels firmer under 300 lbs.
Zenhaven two-sided latex bed
Pick for latex fans
Zenhaven$3,699
Two-sided natural latex, Medium 4 to 5/10, Firm 7 to 8/10
Why choose over Kingsdown: The Zenhaven is natural latex with two sides: Medium at 4 to 5 out of 10 and Firm at 7 to 8 out of 10. Every Kingsdown model on this page has coils, so this is the pick if you want latex without springs.
Quick Answers
Quick Answers Before You Buy
Why this matters to you: Kingsdown's CertiPUR-US label covers its foam only, not the coils or cover, so read it as a foam label.
Kingsdown says all its foams are CertiPUR-US certified.
It also says new-foam smell should fade within a week.
Safety and materials
Are Kingsdown foams CertiPUR-US certified?
Yes, Kingsdown says all its products use CertiPUR-US certified foam, tested for content, emissions and durability. The label covers the foam only, not the coils, cover or whole mattress.
Do Kingsdown mattresses sleep hot?
Kingsdown says its beds can make some heat because they hug your body, and it suggests a cotton pad and lighter sheets. NapLab also faulted the Prime Parkman for holding heat.
How much body impression is normal in a Kingsdown mattress?
Kingsdown says body impressions up to 1.5 inches are normal, and most settling happens in the first weeks. A deeper dip is a reason to contact the dealer you bought from.
Will a new Kingsdown mattress smell, and for how long?
New foam can give off a smell, and Kingsdown says it should fade within a week. Air the bed out for a few days, and contact your retailer if the smell lasts.
Buying and policies
Can I use a Kingsdown mattress on an adjustable base?
Kingsdown says it offers an extensive collection of innerspring, foam and hybrid beds that work on adjustable bases. The Select® Syrah is listed as adjustable base compatible, and the base still needs proper center support.
Does a Kingsdown mattress need a center support in the bed frame?
Yes, a Queen or King needs a bed frame with a center support and a leg on the floor. Kingsdown says the center support is required for the warranty.
Does Kingsdown ship for free, and how long does delivery take?
Kingsdown's site promises free White Glove service on hybrid mattress orders, which brings the bed to the room you choose and sets it up, though in-home setup is not offered in some cities and states. Orders do not ship to Connecticut, Rhode Island, Alaska or Hawaii, and they typically take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive.
Does Kingsdown have a sleep trial, and what does a return cost?
Kingsdown gives you 100 nights and one exchange on beds bought from its site. A return carries a $150 restocking fee, and foundations, pillows, sheets and protectors are left out.
How we research: we read each brand's own pages and look for outside testers and owner reviews. We do not test beds ourselves. Read our method.
