No, most buyers should pass on the TEMPUR-Cloud. Its main catch is heat: Sleep Foundation gave temperature control 5 / 10. For budget-focused shoppers, the Siena 10-inch Signature Memory Foam Mattress is a better fit; Sleep Foundation calls it far more affordable than many comparable mattresses. Siena's Queen price is 329.00; TEMPUR-Cloud's Queen list price is $1,999.00. Sleep Foundation rates Siena 7.5/10 overall and TEMPUR-Cloud 7.6/10 overall, so Siena's budget case rests on price, not a higher rating. Buy it only if you prefer a medium feel.

How firm is the TEMPUR-Cloud, and which firmness should you pick?

Pick either TEMPUR-Cloud® Medium or TEMPUR-Cloud® Medium Hybrid if you want Medium feel; both are labeled Medium feel.

Outside ratings vary by outlet. Sleep Foundation rated the Medium option Medium (5). Its review was updated October 14, 2025. Mattress Clarity rated the all-foam TEMPUR-Cloud 6.5/10, medium firm. That reading is dated September 17, 2026. Sleepopolis gave the all-foam TEMPUR-Cloud 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Its review was updated on September 21, 2026. GoodBed rated TEMPUR-Cloud Medium Hybrid Medium (5) on the GoodBed rating scale. That scale runs from 1= firmest to 9 = softest. These readings use different firmness scales, so their numbers are not directly comparable.

Feel & Fit

Is the TEMPUR-Cloud right for your sleep position and body weight?

For sleepers over 230 pounds, the TEMPUR-Cloud appears a better fit for side sleeping than for back or stomach sleeping, based on Sleep Foundation's ratings. Side sleeping has the strongest result in this group.

  • Side: Sleep Foundation rated it 7/10; support was more limited.
  • Back: Sleep Foundation rated it 5/10; sleepers found it too soft.
  • Stomach: Sleep Foundation rated it 4.5/10; sinking too far made it harder to maintain a neutral spine.

Combination sleepers over 230 pounds should consider time spent in each position, since back and stomach results were weaker than the side result. Tempur-Pedic says the mattress has no weight limit, but that does not mean every position will feel supportive. Choose it with caution if you regularly sleep on your back or stomach.

  2. Shoulders: ask if the shoulder under you settles in, or if you feel a pinch after a few minutes.
  3. Back: lying face up, slide a hand under your waist. A big gap or no room at all is a sign of a poor match.
  4. Hips: ask if your hips dip lower than your shoulders, like lying in a shallow bowl.

Is the TEMPUR-Cloud good for back pain?

The TEMPUR-Cloud may be worth considering for back pain, but these views do not promise pain relief. Sleepopolis says people with lower back pain might be especially well-suited; Sleep Advisor says people with back pain could benefit. For firmness, Tempur-Pedic describes the feel as soft where wanted and firm when needed. That is a feel description, not a reason to expect a change in symptoms.

How cool or hot does it sleep?

It sleeps warm, not neutral, across several outside reviews. Tempur-Pedic says its 360 degree stretch cover wicks moisture and supports airflow, but Sleep Doctor notes memory foam can trap heat.

Sleepopolis found surface temperature rose by over 11 degrees after five minutes; NapLab measured a max surface temperature of 89.5° F. Sleep Foundation scored temperature control 5 / 10. Mattress Clarity felt quite warm, and Reviewed called the mattress hot. Choose it only if a warmer sleep surface does not bother you.

Will you feel your partner move?

You should expect relatively low partner movement, not a guarantee of a motion-free night. NapLab measured motion transfer acceleration at 7.88 m/s² and total bounce height at 4.47 inches, describing motion transfer as low and bounce as very low. The Sleep Judge rated motion isolation 10/10. Mattress Clarity said the TEMPUR-Cloud isolates motion better than pretty much any mattress it has tested. These readings favor it for light sleepers whose main concern is a restless partner.

Build & Safety

How is it built?

The TEMPUR-Cloud is built in four layers, from a stretch cover to a foam base.

  • 360° STRETCH COVER: the top layer.
  • TEMPUR® COMFORT LAYER: TEMPUR-Material®. Tempur-Pedic describes it as soft and responsive, cushioning your body as you settle in.
  • TEMPUR® SUPPORT LAYER: TEMPUR-Material®. The brand describes it as firmer and slowly adapting to your body.
  • BASE LAYER: foam. Tempur-Pedic says it provides support and durability.

Tempur-Pedic lists 1000+ individually wrapped coils for the Hybrid model only. If you want coils, check that you are choosing the Hybrid model.

Tempur-Pedic says the mattress is designed and built in the US.

Materials and certifications

The TEMPUR-Cloud has a 360° stretch, moisture-wicking cover, and its performance foam is 100% CertiPUR-US® certified. That certification covers the performance foam, so it should not be read as a claim that the entire mattress or cover is certified. For a materials check, keep the foam certification separate from the cover’s stretch and moisture-wicking description.

Does the TEMPUR-Cloud have fiberglass?

Tempur-Pedic says its mattresses do not contain fiberglass. Check the law tag on the TEMPUR-Cloud you plan to buy; it lists the mattress materials. Read the material names on that tag to check the fire barrier. The brand's statement covers its mattresses, while the label is the place to check the materials for your exact mattress.

What bed base does it need?

Tempur-Pedic says a power adjustable base works with this mattress. It rules out box springs and floor placement. The brand also says plywood and futon bases are not OK, and either can void the warranty. Plywood can trap moisture. Keeping the mattress folded on a futon can damage it. Choose a compatible base before setup to protect the mattress and warranty.

How long will it last, and does it need flipping or rotating?

Lifespan estimates differ, and Tempur-Pedic says the TEMPUR-Cloud has one side made for sleeping, so it needs no flipping or rotating. Sleep Foundation says permanent body indentations may start around six years. Mattress Clarity says it should last at least 8 to 10 years without sagging. Sleep Doctor estimates six to seven years of good performance, while Mattress Nerd says it should last well past the average mattress lifespan of seven years. Treat these as estimates, not a promised lifespan.

Tempur-Pedic says the break-in period lasts for a couple of weeks, so give it that long before judging the feel.

Trials, returns and fees

Tempur-Pedic says the TEMPUR-Cloud has a 90 nights trial; closeout beds, bases and foundations are not covered. The brand charges a $175 (plus tax) return fee, so budget for it if you may send the mattress back. For beds bought in a store, that store sets the rules, so check its policy before buying.

What does the warranty cover, and what voids it?

Tempur-Pedic says the TEMPUR-Cloud warranty lasts 10 years and covers a visible indentation deeper than 0.75 in, measured with no weight on the bed. A platform bed needs sound slats at least 3 in wide and no more than 4 in apart; a box spring or the floor is not allowed. An inappropriate foundation or base voids this warranty and all other warranties, so check your support before buying. For a warranty claim, you pay shipping, capped at the brand's standard freight rate.

What do owners like and complain about?

Owners praise pressure relief and comfort, but report warmth and weak edge support. Tempur-Pedic's site lists a 4.6 out of 5 average from 2,461+ reviews. This is a snapshot of the brand's own customers, not an independent rating.

Tom's Guide says owners praise pressure relief and pain relief, while some report warmth and weak edge support. Tempur-Pedic owner reviews also mention comfort, better sleep, back relief, and a mattress bought 5 years ago holding up well. Sleep Advisor says some owners find the edge support lacking. Mattress Nerd reports that some customers found the Tempur-Cloud Hybrid too hot, a concern for heat-sensitive shoppers considering that version.

How does the TEMPUR-Cloud compare?

TEMPUR-Cloud is the 10-inch Tempur-Pedic choice, while the Siena 10-inch Signature Memory Foam Mattress is the budget-focused outside alternative. Choose TEMPUR-Adapt for an 11-inch profile, TEMPUR-ProBreeze for a 12-inch profile, or TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt for a 13-inch profile. Choose TEMPUR-ProAdapt for a removable, washable cover; TEMPUR-Cloud's cover must be spot-cleaned. Choose TEMPUR-LuxeBreeze if you prioritize the cooling benefits Tempur-Pedic describes for it.

Choose Siena if budget matters more than a higher Sleep Foundation score. Its Queen price is $329. Sleep Foundation calls it far more affordable than many comparable mattresses and rates it 7.5/10 overall, versus TEMPUR-Cloud's 7.6/10. Cloud scores higher on that scale, so Siena suits shoppers who put budget first.

Has the TEMPUR-Cloud changed since it launched?

Yes. The TEMPUR-Cloud launched in 2019 and later gained hybrid versions. In December 2021, a hybrid option added premium spring coils for extra bounce and all-over support. In 2022, the Medium Hybrid version added premium spring coils for easier movement and more edge support. If those features matter to you, compare the hybrid version with the standard Cloud before buying.
