YachtBedding.com is a yacht and boat mattress specialist, not a home mattress brand. It's a marine-only, made-to-order operation. Its five boat mattresses run from the $895 Captain Hybrid to the $3,195 to $3,595 organic Hayval, each cut to fit a specific vessel berth. You get a shape that fits your berth. But there's no sleep trial, no returns and no published warranty. If you want a custom marine mattress and accept custom-order terms, it's one of the widest selections in that niche.

Key Strengths
Boat and yacht owners
Hard-to-fit berths
Marine-specific materials like mold-resistant latex
Yes for boat and yacht owners with hard-to-fit berths or marine-specific needs; no for anyone shopping for a normal home bed. Every mattress is built to order for one vessel, so you get a shape that actually fits your berth, a choice of latex, gel memory foam, hybrid or all-natural organic builds, a free hinge option for under-berth storage access, and marine-relevant materials such as mold- and mildew-resistant latex.
Against that, there is no standard size to buy off the shelf, no sleep trial, no returns or exchanges once made, no published warranty, and you must measure your own berth unless you are in Southern California or Florida and can book a measuring appointment. If returnability and warranty coverage are non-negotiable, this brand is not for you.
If you want a custom marine mattress and accept custom-order terms, it offers one of the widest model selections in that niche, from $895 to $3,595.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Match depends mainly on how plush you want to sleep and whether chemical-free materials matter to you. Side sleepers and anyone who wants a soft, hotel-like bed are the target for the Admiral 9 in Pillow Top and the slimmer Commodore Supreme 7 in Pillowtop, both built with medium latex cores and 2 inch ultra-soft latex pillow tops.
Back and stomach sleepers who want firmer support have the least published choice: the Commodore is the only model whose page states a firmness range, listing Soft, Medium Firm and Firm, while the Captain, Admiral, Commodore Supreme and Hayval are described only as plush, extra plush or medium-core latex. Budget berths, guest cabins and crew quarters suit the Captain 6 in Hybrid.
Sleepers who run hot, want to avoid polyurethane foams and chemical fire retardants, or prefer wool and organic latex are the audience for the Hayval, which uses wool as a natural fire barrier and for temperature control. Couples who need split firmness will not find that option published, and size is driven by berth width rather than standard mattress dimensions.

Which YachtBedding feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether YachtBedding publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
YachtBedding lists 5 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
Five mattress models, all custom made to order in California and priced by berth width tier: Small up to 38 inches wide, Medium 39 to 60 inches, Large over 61 inches. Captain 6 in Hybrid, $895 Small / $1,395 Medium / $1,795 Large: the economical model, described as a 3 inch high-density polyurethane foam base plus 2 inches of soft latex under plush bamboo quilting, pitched at guest bunks and crew quarters and available in latex or memory foam.
Commodore 7 in Latex, $1,095 / $1,795 / $2,195: described as by far the most popular model, with a 6 inch latex core and ultra-soft bamboo quilting; the page text says it is available in Soft, Medium Firm and Firm.
Commodore Supreme 7 in Pillowtop, latex $1,195 Small / $1,995 Medium / $2,395 Large and gel memory foam $1,297 / $2,195 / $2,595: a 7 inch profile using a 4 inch medium latex core plus 2 inches of ultra-soft latex pillow top, positioned to give the feel of the 9 inch Admiral in a slimmer package.
Admiral 9 in Pillow Top, latex $1,297 / $2,195 / $2,595 and gel memory foam $1,397 / $2,395 / $2,795: the flagship plush model, with a 6 inch medium latex core plus 2 inches of ultra-soft latex pillow top and the plushest bamboo quilting, billed as bringing a five-star-hotel bed to the boat.
Hayval, $3,195 Medium / $3,595 Large: the all-natural halo model, claimed as the world first custom all-natural mattress made specifically for the marine environment, with a proprietary layered 6 inch organic latex base, a 2 inch extra plush natural Talalay Eurotop, certified organic cotton cover and cotton plus New Zealand Joma wool quilting.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Prices run from $895 to $3,595 per mattress, and the tier is set by berth width, not by a standard mattress size. Captain 6 in Hybrid: $895 Small, $1,395 Medium, $1,795 Large, in latex or memory foam, with an optional $20 mattress template kit. Commodore 7 in Latex: $1,095, $1,795 and $2,195 across the same three width tiers.
Commodore Supreme 7 in Pillowtop: latex $1,195 / $1,995 / $2,395; gel memory foam $1,297 / $2,195 / $2,595. Admiral 9 in Pillow Top: latex $1,297 / $2,195 / $2,595; gel memory foam $1,397 / $2,395 / $2,795. Hayval: $3,195 Medium and $3,595 Large.
The category and product headlines advertise the entry prices of $895, $1,095, $1,195, $1,297 and $3,195, so the real cost for a typical 39 to 60 inch berth is usually $1,395 to $2,395. Value reading: you pay for custom fit and marine-specific materials, not for volume pricing. Comparable money spent with a mainstream brand buys a standard-size mattress with a sleep trial and a warranty, neither of which exists here.
Extras add up: mattress protectors are $150 to $225, toppers are $575 to $775, and the product pages warn that shipping is only an estimate based on the west coast and will most likely require an additional charge quoted from your location, plus an XL upcharge over 76 inches wide by 80 inches long.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Not much hard evidence is published. There is no durability testing, no foam density or ILD data, no sag or aging results, no expected lifespan statement and no warranty period to anchor a longevity claim.
What the brand does say is qualitative: latex is described as mold and mildew resistant, odor resistant and heat regulating, and every mattress is said to be crafted custom in California and built to stand up to the rigors of a marine environment; hinges for under-berth storage access are added at no extra cost. Marine conditions are hard on foam, so the absence of published specs and warranty coverage is the main durability question mark.
The most concrete evidence found is testimonial rather than test data: Larry on a Prestige 460 Fly wrote that he bought a YachtBedding mattress about four years earlier and ordered another for a larger boat, and Norman on a Mochi Craft 51 wrote that he has bought five mattresses from the brand. No independent long-term test, teardown or failure report was found as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
No sleep trial exists, and no return, exchange or restocking path is offered. The Terms and Conditions page states that all items are custom made for each order and can not be returned or exchanged, the Customer Care page repeats that returns and exchanges are not permitted, and How to Order adds the same warning, so once a mattress is built you own it.
Because returns are not accepted, no return-shipping fees, restocking fees or exchange fees are published. The only remedies described are for transit damage: photograph any damage and notify the brand immediately, and for freight shipments note the damage on the driver paperwork before the driver leaves.
The FAQ also notes that phone orders are handled with a credit card authorization form for a 50 percent deposit and the balance rather than a normal card checkout, so cancellation terms before production should be confirmed in writing with the brand. In short, treat a purchase as final and get your measurements, template and fabric choices right the first time.

Chapter 07
Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Delivery is location-dependent. In Southern California the mattresses are delivered by the YachtBedding team to your boat, and for the Hayval that delivery includes complimentary haul away of your old mattress, the only old-mattress removal described anywhere on the site.
Outside Southern California the mattress ships to the location of your choice; most mattresses are roll-packed for FedEx and extra-large ones go by freight, and international orders ship via FedEx with duties paid by the customer. No setup or installation service, and no paid old-mattress removal option, is published for non-local buyers, so plan to handle unpacking and removal yourself.
Lead times are inconsistent across the site: the FAQ says typically 3 to 4 weeks to ship, How to Order says about 6 weeks, Terms and Conditions says 4 to 6 weeks and Customer Care says approximately 3 weeks, so confirm timing for your order.
Mattress shipping is not a fixed online cost: the product pages state the shipping estimate is based on the west coast, an additional charge will most likely be added when the order is ready to ship, and you must tell the brand your location to get a total. Template kits and swatches ship separately, in 2 to 3 days and 3 to 5 days respectively.
Typical wait: 3 to 4 weeks

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
Not published as of Sept 2026. The site has no warranty page, and none of the five mattress product pages, the FAQ, How to Order, Terms and Conditions, Customer Care, Shipping or About pages states a warranty period, coverage terms or exclusions for the mattresses.
The only protection described on the site is the transit-damage procedure in the Terms and Conditions, which asks buyers to photograph damage and notify the brand immediately, and for freight to note damage on the driver paperwork. There is no stated coverage for sagging, delamination, foam breakdown or manufacturing defects, and no registration requirement is published.
If warranty protection matters to you, ask YachtBedding directly for written warranty terms before ordering and keep the answer with your order paperwork.

Chapter 09
Review counts checked on each site · they change daily
Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
The official site publishes no star ratings for the mattresses, and the product pages show no customer reviews at all. The only review block found on the Hayval page reads There are no reviews yet and is attached to the Mattress Pad Cover add-on rather than the mattress.
YachtBedding does keep a Testimonials page of named, brand-curated quotes that mostly praise bedding, service and toppers: Barbara on a Ranger Tugs 31 loves her mattress topper, Barb on a Boston Whaler 325 Conquest wrote that the received mattress is perfection, Larry on a Prestige 460 Fly described a repeat mattress purchase delivered and installed while he was away, Norman on a Mochi Craft 51 said he has bought five mattresses across two boats, and dealer Barrett of South Coast Yachts recommends the brand.
On the complaint side, no mattress complaints, defect reports or dispute threads were found as of Sept 2026. Third-party aggregate ratings were not findable as of Sept 2026: SiteJabber lists the business with 0 reviews, and no accessible Yelp, Google, Trustpilot or BBB rating profile for the brand was found, so there is no independent review score to report either way.

Chapter 10
What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Construction is layered foam and natural fiber, not springs, and it differs by model. Captain 6 in Hybrid: 3 inch high-density polyurethane foam base plus 2 inches of soft latex, covered in plush bamboo quilting; offered in latex or memory foam versions. Commodore 7 in Latex: a 6 inch latex core with ultra-soft bamboo quilting; the brand says latex is mold and mildew resistant, breathable, heat regulating and odor resistant.
Commodore Supreme 7 in Pillowtop: 4 inch medium latex core plus 2 inch ultra-soft latex pillow top, with the plushest bamboo quilting; also offered in a gel memory foam version. Admiral 9 in Pillow Top: 6 inch medium latex core plus 2 inch ultra-soft latex pillow top, in the plushest bamboo quilting, with a gel memory foam alternative.
Hayval: proprietary layered 6 inch organic latex base plus 2 inch extra plush natural Talalay Eurotop, covered in certified organic cotton and quilted with natural cotton and natural Joma wool from New Zealand; the brand states it is free of polyurethane foams and chemical fire retardants and as close to 100 percent organic as possible, with the wool acting as an antimicrobial, temperature-regulating natural fire barrier.
All models are made custom to the berth and can be ordered with a hinge at no extra cost for under-berth storage. No foam densities, ILD numbers, layer-by-layer thickness charts beyond the descriptions above, or certifications beyond the Hayval organic cotton claim are published.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.
Try the mattresses in person at the brand showrooms, which stock lay-down mattress samples: San Diego at Safe Harbor Sunroad Marina, 955 Harbor Island Drive Suite 135, 619-550-4406; Huntington Beach factory showroom at 16651 Gothard St Unit E, 714-332-6344; Pompano Beach, Florida at 229 South Federal Highway, 954-256-7976, by appointment only; and Bellingham, Washington at 1325 Roeder Ave Suite 103 inside Northwest Power Diesel, by appointment.
Hours vary by location and visits are by appointment or by phone first; the San Diego showroom lists 10am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10am to 3:30pm Saturday, closed Wednesday and Sunday. Buy online at yachtbedding.com, by phone at 800-688-3819, by email at info@yachtbedding.com, or through a Virtual Design Appointment by Zoom or FaceTime if you are not near a showroom.
The Hayval page says the mattress can be tested at the Huntington Beach, San Diego and Pompano Beach showrooms, and a blog post on an installed Hayval says showrooms feature lay-down mattress samples plus fabric options from Sferra, Matouk and Thibaut. The site also has a boat show schedule page, but it still lists 2020 events and appears outdated; confirm current shows by phone.

Chapter 12
YachtBedding vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
No head-to-head comparisons with other mattress brands are published on the official site, so this is a positioning summary rather than a tested matchup. YachtBedding.com is a marine specialist, not a general mattress brand: five custom boat mattresses plus toppers, protectors and yacht bedding, all built to a specific vessel berth.
Against mainstream home mattress brands the differences are structural: no standard sizes, no sleep trial, no returns or exchanges, no published warranty, small appointment-based showrooms and virtual consultations instead of mass tryout floors, and mattress shipping quoted per location instead of free or flat-rate delivery.
Against other ways of replacing a boat mattress, the brand competes with factory OEM mattresses, local marine upholsterers and DIY topper fixes; it publishes no comparison with those either, though its pitch is that a properly fitted custom mattress plus a hinge for under-berth storage beats squeezing a standard mattress or topper into a shaped berth.
Price positioning is premium for the category: $895 to $2,795 for the latex, hybrid and gel memory foam builds, and $3,195 to $3,595 for the organic Hayval, which overlaps with high-end home organic latex pricing but adds custom marine fit.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for YachtBedding. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
Reviewed in September 2026.
Official pages examined: the Hayval, Captain, Commodore, Commodore Supreme and Admiral product pages including their variant pricing, the Yacht Mattresses and Boat Mattress Topper category pages, Products, About Us, How to Order, Frequently Asked Questions, Terms and Conditions, Customer Care, Shipping, Locations, Contact, Testimonials, Boat Show Schedule and recent blog and featured-project posts covering Hayval installs and custom mattress jobs on a Hylas 70, Prestige 630 and Mikelson 50.
The FAQ and site search were also queried for warranty, returns and Hayval mentions. Outside the official site, SiteJabber, Trustpilot, Yelp, BBB, Google and YouTube search were checked for reviews, ratings and complaints; where a source was inaccessible or the brand had no profile, that is stated in the field rather than filled in. No hands-on measuring, sleep testing or durability testing of the mattresses was performed for this profile.

Quick Answers
Quick Answers Before You Buy
Safety and materials
Buying and policies
Are these mattresses for homes?
No. This is a yacht and boat specialty brand; all five mattresses are custom made to fit a specific vessel berth, so there is no standard home size to buy.
Can I try one before buying?
Yes, at showrooms carrying lay-down mattress samples in Huntington Beach and San Diego, California, Pompano Beach, Florida and Bellingham, Washington, or through a virtual appointment; visits are by appointment, so call first.
Is there a sleep trial, and can I return a mattress?
No sleep trial, and returns and exchanges are not permitted because every mattress is custom made, so the purchase is final.
How much does a mattress cost?
Entry prices start at $895 for the Captain and $1,095 for the Commodore, with the Hayval at $3,195 to $3,595; medium and large berths generally land between $1,395 and $2,795.
Will they remove my old boat mattress?
In Southern California delivery is by the brand team and the Hayval page promises complimentary haul away of your old mattress; outside that area removal is not published.
Do I have to measure my own berth, and how long will it take to ship?
You measure unless you are in Southern California or Florida and book an appointment, using the brand place-and-trace system or a $20 template kit; published lead times range from about 3 weeks to 6 weeks depending on the page, so confirm when ordering.
