Hard-to-fit spaces such as Murphy beds, slide-outs and bunks
Shoppers who want a trial that covers custom sizes
Good to Know
Shoppers who want to lie on a mattress in a showroom first
Buyers who want old-mattress removal or setup included
Anyone who wants free returns without paying freight
Good fit for RV, van, truck, boat and odd-size sleepers who need a made-to-order mattress with hinges, notches or rounded corners, want one side soft and one side firm (Divini Luxe), or want a trial that covers custom sizes; also good for couples with different firmness preferences and for hard-to-fit spaces such as Murphy beds, slide-outs and bunks.
Poor fit for shoppers who want to lie on a mattress in a showroom first, want old-mattress removal or setup service included, want free returns without paying freight, or want the cheapest possible standard flat queen - Tochta pricing is mid-to-premium and most of the money goes into customization, not headline savings.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Side sleepers: Utopia or Divini Luxe dialed soft for contouring pressure relief; Journey if you want a slightly firmer surface that still cushions shoulders. Back and stomach sleepers: Avalon (firm) or Journey (medium-firm) for a flatter, more supportive feel. Couples with different preferences: Divini Luxe dual-zone (five firmness levels per side, layers swap at home) or the older Divini (nine settings).
Heavy sleepers and edge-sitters: Divini Luxe edge rails plus high-density cores; queen builds claim 500-plus lbs per side. Hot sleepers: Journey Serene Cool Flow open-cell foam; Utopia and Divini Luxe Dual Phase Change foam with cool-to-touch covers. Murphy beds, slide-outs, bunks and odd shapes: any model with custom cut, notches or a horizontal hinge; thinner 4-6 inch builds fit low clearances but feel firmer because padding is reduced.

Which Tochta feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Tochta publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.

Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
Tochta lists 5 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
Avalon (entry, firm, budget): bamboo-infused stretch-knit quilted cover, cooling Serene foam comfort layer, high-density resilient base; firm feel marketed as Budget Meets Bliss; 6-10 inch thickness options, custom size and cut plus optional hinges; from $308; no separate standard-size page - built through the sizing wizard.

Utopia (premium all-foam): cool-to-touch woven cover, Dual Phase Change gel memory foam comfort layer, transitional layer, R3 Neutral Core gel-bead support over a high-density base; marketed as soft and firm at the same time with temperature regulation; 6-10 inch thickness; from $490 (standard listing $443-$1,200).

Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Starting prices as listed Sept 2026: Avalon from $308, Journey from $363, Utopia from $490, Divini Luxe from $785; standard-size product pages list Journey $487-$969, Utopia $443-$1,200 and the older Divini $707-$1,610 under a sitewide 35 percent off Labor Day promotion with Sale badges; 0 percent financing offered. Free shipping to the contiguous US.
Value read: fair-to-good for handcrafted, made-to-order US mattresses in non-standard dimensions, where the alternative is an ill-fitting big-box RV replacement; weaker on plain standard-size value, where mainstream bed-in-box foam costs less before promos, and the spread between builder starts-at prices and product-page ranges means shoppers should price their exact size before comparing.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
No independent long-term durability testing found as of Sept 2026; Yawnder's Aug 2026 review scored the Utopia 8.6/10 overall with edge support 7.8, calling it a real mattress brand for tight spaces, and did not report durability failures.
Structural signals: dense high-density foam cores, CertiPUR-US certification, fiberglass-free build with a salt-treated knit fire barrier, single-sided no-flip construction requiring twice-yearly rotation, a 500-plus lbs per side claim in queen, and a 10-year warranty covering impressions over 1 inch.
Caution flags from owner reviews: isolated seam separation under a year, softening over months of use, one complaint of humps where a hinged mattress was folded, and edge sink on older builds. Moisture complaints under mattresses usually concern the HyPUR-Flo underlay mat, not the mattress itself. Sag-depth test data beyond the 1-inch warranty threshold: not published as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
100-night money-back trial on every mattress, standard or custom size, limited to one return per household; keep the mattress at least 14 nights before initiating a return (30 nights recommended), contact help@tochta.com within 100 days of delivery, then either donate to an approved charity or recycling partner and send proof, or return it to the Southern California facility; refunds go to the original payment method, usually within 7 days, and you do not need to re-box it in the original carton.
Excluded: sheets, quilted protectors and HyPUR-Flo products; wrong-size orders are not covered as trial returns, though Tochta will re-cut or rebuild with possible extra charges. Return shipping: the 100 Night Trial page says the customer pays return shipping, so plan on paying it; owner reviews cite roughly $200-$300 return shipping on odd sizes.
No formal exchange program is published - Divini Luxe and Divini instead use swappable layers and the Divini Luxe Comfort Revision Guarantee for firmness changes.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Made to order in Southern California and shipped free to contiguous US addresses (Alaska, Hawaii and Canada by arrangement for an extra fee); the site says most mattress orders arrive in about two weeks and custom sheets or protectors in 2-3 weeks, and the team will move an order up the schedule for trip deadlines when possible.
Mattresses ship compressed and rolled in a box the site lists as roughly 16x16x41 inches (also stated as 17x17x42 inches) via UPS or FedEx; delivery to any UPS-deliverable address, including an RV location that accepts packages. Setup is DIY: unbox, cut away the plastic, position black side down and the mattress expands within minutes - no installation service is offered.
Old-mattress removal is not offered: returns require donating to an approved charity or recycling partner with proof (customer arranges and pays) or shipping the mattress back to the California facility; Tochta states it is not responsible for removal or donation costs.
Typical wait: 2 to 3 weeks

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
10-year limited warranty for the original purchaser only (not transferable) covering manufacturing defects including body impressions greater than 1 inch and foam splitting or cracking under normal use; the mattress cover carries a separate 1-year warranty against material or workmanship faults.
Claims go through help@tochta.com; Tochta repairs or replaces at its discretion within 5 working days once received, covers shipping of the repaired or replaced mattress back to you, but the customer pays return shipping to the Southern California facility.
Excludes normal softening and loss of recovery, improper foundations or supports, jumping or dragging damage, loose threads, stains (stains void the warranty), removed law tags, and mattresses left compressed more than 60 days; proof of original purchase required. Designed for firm solid-surface or adjustable bases; rotate twice a year, never flip (single-sided).
Covered when the dip is deeper than 1 inch, measured with nobody on the bed.
Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

Review counts checked on each site · they change daily
Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
Tochta's own Yotpo review feed shows about 1,429 reviews at 4.82/5 (roughly 89 percent five-star, 6 percent four-star, 5 percent three-star or lower), with reviews running from 2019 through Sept 2026; per-listing counts are 862 for the pooled Custom Mattress listing (4.85), 56 for Utopia queen (4.8), 21 for Divini (4.9) and 4 for Journey queen (5.0), so most custom builds are pooled under one listing rather than split by model.
Praise centers on exact custom fit (hinges, notches, rounded corners), comfort upgrades over factory RV mattresses, quick build-to-door times and helpful phone staff.
Complaints repeat four themes: firmness misses (too firm or too soft versus expectation, especially 6-7 inch builds where padding is reduced), return logistics (return shipping often cited around $200-$300 on odd sizes plus awkward re-packing; the trial page says the customer pays return shipping while a contact-page FAQ claims no return charges), accessory gripes (sheets rough and wrinkly, quilted protector not waterproof, HyPUR-Flo mat sliding and condensation), and isolated quality issues (seams separating, a month-long smell, edge sink).
Third-party: Trustpilot lists 16 reviews at 2.9/5 citing firmness and at-your-expense returns; SmartCustomer shows zero reviews; BBB and Google business ratings not published as of Sept 2026.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
CertiPUR-US certified high-density foams and latex, handcrafted in Tochta's own Southern California factory. Avalon: bamboo-infused stretch-knit quilted cover with foam/fiber quilt, Serene cooling foam comfort layer, high-density resilient base. Journey: stretch-knit cover, Serene Cool Flow open-cell comfort foam, medium-firm transitional layer, high-density base.
Utopia: cool-to-touch performance cover, Dual Phase Change gel memory foam comfort layer, transitional layer, R3 Neutral Core gel-bead memory foam, high-density base. Divini Luxe: zippered stretch-knit cover, quick-recovery phase-change comfort layer, swappable Extra Soft to Extra Firm support layers, edge-rail system, high-density base. Divini (legacy page): dual-zone swappable layers in soft, medium or firm, edge support, high-density base.
Brand-wide: no fiberglass; fire barrier is a polyester-cotton knit treated with food-grade salt, no chemical flame retardants; no formaldehyde, ozone depleters, heavy metals or certain flame retardants per CertiPUR-US; single-sided no-flip design. Cover thread counts or foam densities: not published as of Sept 2026.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

No showroom, factory store or in-person tryout locations published as of Sept 2026, and no third-party retailers or marketplace listings found; the company runs a dealer program (7 percent revenue share and branded tochta.com/dealername links) for RV dealers and websites, but no public dealer locator is published. Tochta vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Vs American RV Mattress: Tochta wins on trial length (100 vs 60 nights) and dual-zone adjustable firmness; loses on promo price floor ($308 vs $276) and latex-hybrid flagship breadth. Vs Adventure RV Mattress: Tochta wins on in-home firmness adjustment and layer-swap customization; loses on trial length (100 vs 365 nights).
Vs Mattress Insider: Tochta wins on factory-direct handcrafted story and cooling layer tech; loses on model breadth and catalog size. Vs Comfort RV: Tochta wins on dual-firmness systems and custom shapes; loses on lower starting prices and simpler lineup. Vs Dynasty and marketplace RV brands: Tochta wins on true custom cuts, hinges and CertiPUR-US documentation; loses on marketplace convenience and entry pricing.
Vs mainstream bed-in-box foam brands: Tochta wins on genuine custom sizes and RV, van and truck focus; loses on showroom tryouts, free and frictionless returns, and longer promotional trials; mainstream brands also publish fuller layer specs. Vs custom home-mattress shops: Tochta wins on RV heritage, hinge engineering and moisture-accessory ecosystem; loses on home-size assortment breadth.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.

How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Tochta. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
We reviewed Tochta in Sept 2026 by reading the homepage, the Avalon, Journey, Utopia and Divini Luxe model pages, the legacy Divini and Custom Mattress product pages, the sizing wizard, shipping, 100-night trial, warranty, unboxing, contact/FAQ, our-story, for-RV-use and dealer-signup pages, and by pulling the site's Yotpo review feed (about 1,430 reviews, 4.82 average, latest Sept 2026), plus third-party checks (Yawnder review updated Aug 2026, Trustpilot, SmartCustomer, RV media mentions).
Model names, layer stacks, firmness systems, thickness options, standard size charts, prices, review counts and policy fine print were cross-checked across pages; No physical testing was performed; durability, firmness and weight claims are reported as published.

No - it builds custom mattresses for RVs, vans, trucks, boats and homes, from 4 to 10 inches thick and up to 88 inches wide by 100 inches long, with hinges and cut-outs.
Which model is cheapest and which is the flagship?
Avalon is the budget firm model from $308; Divini Luxe is the flagship dual-zone with five firmness levels per side from $785.
Can I try a Tochta before buying?
Only at home - there are no showrooms; every mattress, custom sizes included, comes with a 100-night money-back trial after a 14-night minimum.
Do custom sizes and hinges still get the trial and warranty?
Yes - custom sizes, cut-outs and hinges are covered by the same 100-night trial and 10-year limited warranty; accessories such as sheets and protectors are excluded from the trial.
How fast is delivery and what does it cost?
Free to the contiguous US (Alaska, Hawaii and Canada cost extra); most orders arrive in about two weeks as a compressed boxed mattress.
Where is it made?
Handcrafted in Tochta's own Southern California factory; uses CertiPUR-US foams, contains no fiberglass and uses no chemical flame retardants.
Prices and promos checked Sept 2026. Recheck before buying.
